Certified Tech at AD

My DateJust is about 8 years old. I purchased it new at an AD. Unfortunately, seem to have lost my paperwork, etc.

So the watch has stopped. Tried 30 to 40 manual winds, giving it a few shakes, etc.

AD says warranty within the time frame I purchased was only 2 years, and now it's 5 "because they're making them better."

Bottom line - AD has a certified Rolex tech, says it will be 10 weeks or so to repair, but still less time than sending it straight to Rolex. Approx cost for their tech to repair - $600-950.

Does this all sound right?
