What was your first Rolex, and when was it?

Mine was a Bi metal (TT) Datejust with the ubiquitous champagne dial, jubilee bracelet, and plastic? glass, circa mid 80’s.

Got my first 1990-91 - and it was a 14060.

To this day still my favorite Submariner.

My wife got this one new for me as a gift when I finished residency in 1988. I still have it. This is a recent picture. It’s unpolished.

A 1675 GMT Pepsi used around 1986. Paid 700 or 800 dollars. There were 6273 and 6265 that we’re less and the dealer said they would make a good deal on those Bec they wanted to move them!!

This one from DavidSW
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=159244

Bought it a few weeks after proposing to my now wife. Figured I spent so much on the ring I may as well get something for myself too.
I still need to get it engraved. I’ll have it forever

114060 as I thought it was stupid to pay similar prices for a 14060M.

Then realized I still looked at 14060M's.

So I made the trade.

1999 (23 years old) , 36mm SS Datejust, oyster bracelet, smooth bezel, rhodium roman dial. Managing retail stores and grinding it out to earn bonuses to accomplish the goal of purchasing it!

Exactly... After that episode, I totally stopped wearing them in rich neighborhoods, considered by myself, risky places here in SP where specialized Rolex gangs can spot one easily and "tag" you.

Lame....

Daytona 116500 white dial, April 2017. My boss saw me browsing through some Tag and Sub at chrono24. He told me to go straight for the one I really want instead of inching my way to it with models I just settled for. I said ok. He helped me find one and I had my Daytona the following day.

I bought my 116610 with money from the sale of an ATV I owned for 10 years, and a diamond I found in 2013. I have three main watches, and while all are special for their own reasons, the Sub is my favorite to wear most days by far.
