Best Daily Wear ... 116500 Daytona Black Dial vs. 14060/16610
Just curious which IYO is the best daily. Going back and forth between these. Either the 116500 black dial or either 14060 / 16610. I don’t care for the six digit subs due to the bulky case design.
Both options here have pros and cons. Like to get other opinions. Thanks! |

What’s your job? One screams “Look at me”, the other is more discrete.

I don’t think you can beat an SS Daytona. It’s just a great all around watch that’s comfortable and timeless.

Both are very comfortable to wear, the polished center links on the Daytona will definately draw more attention.

16610 all day every day. I much prefer a date, the Daytona dial is a bit cluttered, and the PCLs scratch like crazy. I’m not easy on my watches, so I prefer a brushed bracelet. Not to mention I genuinely think the sub is a better looking watch in every way.

Sub. Cheaper and easier to get also.

I'd like to think if I had a Daytona I'd wear it daily but in reality I'd probably baby it too much to do that. 5 digit Sub fits the job much better IMO, less flashy and less expensive to repair in case anything goes wrong.

They're all good daily options and rock solid. In this case I would go with whichever fits your lifestyle better.
For me I have a white DaytonaC and wear it often, but my SubC gets more wrist time. I have more use for the timing bezel than the chrono. |

I’ve done both from time to time - it’s so much a personal preference that there is no right or wrong answer.

My vote is for Sub. I've bought and sold Daytonas, and have always gone back to the Sub. I now have a 5 digit and 6 digit and will never be without one of them.
Good luck. |

Tough call! Both attract attention in their own way. The Daytona has PCL's but it sits much flatter on the wrist and wears smaller. The sub has a larger case, looks larger on the wrist, and is still fairly "blingy" in its own way.
I don't have a Sub anymore. I'm down to a 116500 and a BLNR and I rotate both. PS - Just noticed that you're considering the 14060 or 16610...those models wear smaller than the new Sub which has a bulkier case / larger lugs. |

Tough call. I have both and love them both. Daytona more sleek, stylish, eye catching. Sub is a sledgehammer dressed in a Tux.

Both are awesome. Totally different feel and attention it gathers. I was @ an Omega event and everyone was gawking @ one dude wearing a white Daytona 116500.....I was more interested in guys who had more interesting vintage Omegas (some cool pieces from some long time collectors, Omega event after all) /Pateks/Langes. It's hard to say why the Daytona C gathers that kind of attention....I get it too when I wear the watch....I just can't tell if people actually like the watch and think it's that stunning or it's because it's so coveted. No one blinks an eye @ my 116506 or 116509.

I use my 16610 during the week as it has the date which I use often, especially with work and the Daytona on weekends. Problem solved.

I own both the 16610 and black 116500. I would agree with many of the comments above. The date is more practical and useful compared to a chronograph function. How many people actually use the Daytona to time something? I vote for the 16610.

16610 if you need a date, coin flip between the Daytona and 14060 otherwise.

I’ve got a 11610 and white dial and I flipped between the two preferring one sometimes and then the other.
The Daytona edges it for me and is a lovely fit. Now I have a Pepsi it is the same issue, nicer sure which one I prefer but I think the Daytona still edges it. This is impossible to answer but; Do you want the classic Rolex look, a Sub with narrow lugs and it to be instantly recognisable. If so, then the sub because where I am there are less Daytona’s and it is less recognised. |

Although Daytona is very beautiful but I'd love to choose Sub because it has cyclops, more convenience for daily wearing.

Both are great watches but if you are looking for a more unique watch it is the Daytona-C. But I will always be a Rolex Diver fan.

Only one, between a Sub and arguably the hottest watch Rolex makes?
Easy, 116500. Don't see why not, it's just another watch after all. A really nice one I would love to see everyday. |
