Stainless to Gold...what a difference in weight

Recently decided to part ways with my stainless subC no date. I traded it in for a solid gold subC...thanks David and Rolexforums for once again a smooth transaction...my new daily is my Panerai Pam 48 I keep on rubber. Family photo below shows my brothers day date 36mm- my uncles Daytona and my fathers subC date.

That YG LB is one bad a$$ watch! I just added this one as well. I no longer have any SS Rolexes. IMHO PM Rolexes have great value and if you buy right you will lose little to no money. I prefer the weight of PM. Except, my Platona is a freaking brick!

Couldn’t agree more. I actually bought my SubC no date right before the watch market took a jump so I made about $1,000 from the sale and that’s on trade. My brother had an older gold submariner and he basically wore it for free for a year when he decided to get the day date. I consider these watches cash on the wrist! It’ll always be accessible if needed.

I think the regular sub is around 148g and the solid gold one is 219g. Would be even heavier if Rolex didnt hollow the head out.

My very first Rolex was pm and when I purchased my BLNR, I remember thinking how light it was.

Gold back to Stainless with its seemingly gravity defying lightness is even weirder.

Buying from a Grey dealer and getting a slightly used one where someone else took the initial hit. I picked mine up at 65% of retail. Its now worth a little over what I paid a year later.
