Report to police and insurance firstly.
There have a been a few good stories. Post the watch here, use model number, photograph (particularly if it has distinguishing marks/scratches etc) and list serial number. That way if someone Google’s model xxxxx and serial number xxxxxx your stolen piece may show up. Certainly makes it more difficult to sell on.

Having been a pole officer on the street for 30 years now retired. Very rare the complaint gets to every see the items again. The only way i've seen, if we caught the perp still attempting to get away from the scene.

Rare but it does happen occasionally. I recall two stories here on the forum where they were recovered. Good luck.

Not a Rolex, but I've recovered a stolen Breguet many years ago.

Filed a report back in January 2017 regarding my stolen Sub LVc ...
S/N: 33X06987

So far, NOTHING ! LOL

I have strong reasons to believe that my stolen watch is now out of the country as I was told by others that usually most stolen Rolex here are taken and sold in Argentina !!

Also, I was informed by my Local Rolex Office Distributor that an owner from my city recovered his stolen watch 7 years after the theft ! Amazing !

I'm one of the lucky ones. I found mine on ebay about 5 months after it was stolen.

My elderly aunt lives in Baltimore. Home invasion. I was hoping to get some tips from the forum members. She filed a police report and I have the SN. Thanks for the tip on viewing previous threads. I heard rumors of Rolex maintaining an owner data base. The search continues.

if it ever happened, im insured so it wouldn't be my watch anymore anyway once insurance paid me so whatever they do to find it is on them. I wouldn't care at that point.

This is the right way to think about it, unfortunately.

Won’t bring back the old watch and the memories, but you will get a shiny new one as a consolation prize with which to make new memories.

I had my grandfather's watch stolen 11 years ago: a simple 1601, but I would trade all my watches to get it back. Unfortunately I did not have the S/N recorded.

Maybe it will turn up on ebay or somewhere: it had a distinct dent on the clasp, but that's a long shot.

Very sorry to hear this. This is an example of no matter how covered you may be with insurance, there are some items money cannot bring back to you.

its tough, as if its ever found then you have to buy it back from your insurance company as they have title to it. However, you probably already bought another watch already and you may not even be in a position to be able to pay to get it back. Generally speaking.

I was under the impression that Rolex check the SN when they're doing a service and retain it if it's been reported stolen (which is why the SNs get removed from stolen watches - and without SNs watches won't be serviced by an AD). Is this an 'urban legend...?'

True. Rolex maintains a database of watches that are reported stolen and will return the watch to the owner upon receipt.

Stolen SS Daytona Zenith Movement

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can post or search for my stolen Daytona? It was stolen about 14 years ago and I never want to give up.

It's a 2000, SS Daytona white face w/ black dial Zenith Movement. Anyone that can assist me with a lead that would help me obtain it will receive a handsome reward! I'm putting it in writing. $X,XXX

Model number R16520 Serial #A901155

Thanks All!

You cant report any watch stolen without an official police report right? Whats stopping some idiot from calling up any Rolex RSC and reporting a serial they saw on the net or from someone and saying its stolen.

There needs to be some safe measures for fraud and from people just bring pricks.

Forgive me, but this feels like a troll post. If not, unfortunately your best option is just to move on.
If you reported it to the authorities/Rolex 14 years ago, then maybe by some miracle it will turn up one day. But you're best off just accepting that it's gone.

Also, white face w/ black dial...?
