Advice for my second Rolex

Looking for some advice here. Always been into watches and have a bunch of quartz watches. Last year I got a sub c with date to celebrate a personal accomplishment and it’s light years ahead of all my others. Truly the best watch I have ever owned and it makes me smile each morning when I put it on.

Now I have reached another milestone and I want to celebrate it with another Rolex. Something dressier perhaps or at least a little different than the sub.
I would buy used, vintage, or new.

Hoping you can make some suggestions to get me going.

I have $9,000-$11,000 for a budget.

Thank you in advance.

Dj41 fluted with jubilee bracelet will go perfectly with the sub. Congrats on another milestone!

I agree.. fluted DJ would give you a different option.. but another prof sports model wouldn’t hurt either

I too would go for a Datejust if you want something dressier

Jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel and I would go for 36mm but if you like 41mm then go for that.

Here are mine

I got a blue YM to pair with my Subc. Bit sportier than a DJ.

yep, yachtmaster either the blue or the rhodium would be my choice given the criteria. Or maybe a DJ 41.

Thank you for all the advice.
I had considered going for a blue dial datejust 41 fluted on a jubilee and you fine people have confirmed it is a good choice.

Thank you.

Why limit yourself to another Rolex? What about a PAM, IWC or JLC? All easily attainable with your budget.

Certainly can't go wrong with the DJ 41.

Also would consider some JLC Master Control options (sector dial, ultra thin) if you were looking for a dressier piece and wanted to venture outside the crown.

I think a DJ41 or a Batman will be good enough.

I say if you want something understated that can be worn with a suit as well as shorts and a t-shirt, Explorer 1 214270. If you want something a bit more upscale the DJ is a great choice.

That budget opens a lot of doors... here are some suggestions:

Rolex dress: Fluted DJ, whichever size fits your wrist better
Non-Rolex Dress: JLC (master ultra thin line or reverso - hard to beat) OR Breguet Classique (simply gorgeous, would have to look grey/used)
Rolex sporty/dress: GMT LN (or BLNR if you want a touch more sporty). PCLs will give you the slightly more dressy look
Non Rolex sporty/dress: world of options... IWC Ingenieur Chrono, various PAMs if your wrist can fit it... looots of options

I picked up a SubC date earlier this year and just added a BLNR yesterday. I love the Sub and the BLNR is such a similar look with that little bit of extra specialness. I say BLNR.

Sounds like you're gravitating toward the blue dial DJ 41...not a bad choice.
If it were me I would jettison all your quartz watches, keep your Sub C and purchase a vintage Ref. 1601 or 1603 Datejust plus a well cared for/lightly used Exp. 214270. Both watches combined can be had within your budget. In the end you'd have a very solid and enviable 3-watch collection.
