16570 ....can hear rotor and feel vibrating

I’ve had my 16570 EXP 11 for a while and recently I’ve started to hear and feel the rotor moving when I move my wrist, and can feel a light buzzing from the watch when this happens.....I’ve also noticed on a full wind it’s achieves only 42 hours reserve when left off the wrist.....when I wear it a full day 12 hours plus the watch only runs for 18 - 24 hours when left off the wrist.....my question is, is there something broken that needs repaired or just in need of a service?.....when it runs it runs well at +4 secs per day and it hasn’t been dropped or banged, I’ve no idea when it was last serviced.

Sounds like it’s time for a service.

Sounds like something may be off or loose with the rotor/power reserve mechanism. I would have it checked out by RSC or trusted Rolex watchmaker of your choice.

The rotor sound should be minimal. If you can also hear something hitting the caseback, the rotor may have come loose, which could explain the loss in power reserve. I would take it into the RSC if I were you.

Do it soon to minimize any other damage to other components. If you can't being in yet, then store it away and don't use it till you get it rectified.

Your power-reserve is fine anything from 39-48 hours after a full manual wind 40 plus fall crown turns clockwise only. And the main Achilles heel in most of the Rolex 3 series movements like the cal 3135 cal 3185/6 is the rotor shaft bearings. and IMHO its the 3 series movements weakest link the rotor winding sleeve bearings. Now these need proper lubrication and its very critical its done right,if it dries out especially in warm climates you will get severe wear in the bearing jewels.Looks like to me Rolex has sacrificed a bit in the engineering department for better winding efficiency. IMHO the small diameter winding post don't offer enough support to the rotor weight, but again some go on for decades without service, but many fail for the lack of.But if your rotor does need replacing then you can be 100% sure the movement needs a full service as well.

My 16570 was just doing this. It was taken in under warranty and serviced, all it needed was re-lubrication I was told.

Great info, thanks to everyone for the contributions, really appreciated.....it’s off to RSC on Monday for a full service.

Most likely a worn rotor axle, full service highly recommended.

I have found that typically when someone sells you a watch with no service history disclosed, it is probably due for a service. These stopped production 7 or 8 years ago?
