Storing your Rolex

Hi all!

I just purchased a black sub from my AD! Very excited- it’s my first nice watch! As such, I was wondering if you had a preferred method of storing your watches when you aren’t wearing them (at home, or when out, like in the gym).

TYIA!

Storing your Rolex

Get a Casebudi and put it in a drawer. Congrats on the sub. Great watch.

My preferred method is using the Rolex service pouch, if you ask for it probably you AD will give you one for free.

I've seen these shown and discussed here before. What exactly are these made from? Suede? Alcantara? These are generally not for sale by Rolex?

They are very smooth, not sure of the material but it is very good for the purpose.
I think that are not for sale, but my AD has give me for free more than the Rolex that I have purchased. I think that are perfect for that kind of metal bracelets, it does not work for straps.

I modified a Coin/Card Leather Zip Wallet and it works perfectly and looks great. Just thought i'd mention this just to make you think of ideas. I also have a Casebudi like most people here will mention as great value and works great. I think they come in 2 sizes.

Congrats on your new sub and welcome to the forum :)

I use a safe deposit box at the bank for my high-falutin watches.

Mine is usually on my wrist. When it’s not, I just have it laying down on a cashmere like cloth.

Likewise. I always lay on crown (winder) side to minimise contact, and thus scratch, area.

Yes, they're not for sale. Usually after a service or repair, the RSC returns your repaired watch in the pouch.

I have one and it's a nice item to store a watch when not in use. Although, I wouldn't recommend using it as a travelling case. The gold Rolex text is like a "steal me" banner if left in luggage or hotel room.

Call a Rolex Service Center and inquire if It's possible to purchase one. They might give you one or charge a minimal fee. Won't hurt to ask right?

Good luck,
Mark

I only have two. When not wearing one of them the other is laying around on my desk at home or at my night stand

In a watch box inside my safe, might be a little overkill but it keeps all my pieces safe and sound.

Myself have had a specially made Rolex bed made from the finest materials known to man,its lined with the finest silk and specially padded with the finest softest Pashmina as not to scratch the extremely delicate 904L SS, now called oystersteel.Plus it has a built in winder to gently rock your Rolex watche to sleep and keep its heart ticking at a constant 28800 BPH. Plus the added feature of thermostatically heat humidity and air conditioned controlled to the COSC standard. As Rolex watches are very delicate and need extreme pampering if not they will self destruct .Its fully Programmed to lull Rolex watches to sleep when off wrist, with soothing ticking and whale sounds to help it drift into a place of peace and Rolex tranquillity.

Afraid the Rolex bed is at the moment a very secret prototype but will be taking orders soon once I have it it full production price expected to be $500 -$800 owing to winder expense as these winders are very special COSC certified motor ones..

But in the real world a Rolex is just a watch and does not care how the watch is left to rest off wrist flat, downside up, crown up or downsideup or the need for a special resting cloth or special boxes when at home, or when out, like in the gym or anywhere else on this planet.

Watches that are not in use are stored in a watch box. The watch that I am wearing stays on my wrist until I go to sleep, when it sits on the night table waiting to be knocked to the floor. I do not take my watch off at the gym.

At home I keep them in the safe. Things that go in the safe stay in the safe. I never lost anything out of the safe.

In public I never take my Rolex off. Too many opportunities to loose it. At the gym I wear it exercising, in the steam room and showering. I wear it swimming and kayaking. I keep my Rolex on my wrist and have yet to loose one.
