Sub on tour

Hi, I am shortly visiting Miami, the Keys and Fort Myers. My question is regarding safety while wearing my sub on holiday?

I know there is lots of media recently about owners of high end watches being robbed at knife/gun point.

I am well aware that there are some areas particularly in Miami that can be less safe even without a £6k watch on your wrist. However, I would be interested in people's experiences in the regular 'tourist' spots?

Miami is watch central of the south. You will spot so many high end watches in one city. The ultra high dollar watches are everywhere.
A black Sub wont even be noticed. Enjoy your trip.

I have to agree with this. Don’t even worry about it.

In Miami, you’ll have a harder time finding someone not wearing a Rolex than you will finding folks wearing them. They are everywhere.
Like anywhere in the world, don’t be ignorant to your surroundings.
In the Keys, no one will care.
In Ft. Myers, almost as prevelant as in Miami.

There are people rocking Richard Mille’s all sorts of super high end stuff over there. Not a problem. Must people will not notice a steel watch. Same thing in NYC.

Headed over to "O"lando tomorrow to pick up a Tudor GMT I ordered on July 20. Two months is not bad at all.

Well....

We made it from Fort Walton, all the way down to Miami, and stayed there several days. Of course I was wearing TT, and no one knifes anyone to get a TT Rolex

If you are interested in Rolex/GMT history, consider stopping by the place where Pan Am was founded. It is in what is now Key West at Kelly's (Caribbean) Bar & Grill. This bar and restaurant is owned by actress Kelly McGillis. There is a sign outside about the founding of Pan Am. Inside there is some memorabilia from Pan Am, plus some from Top Gun and Witness and McGillis' career. It is only a couple of blocks off Duval Street.

Honestly, reasonable watchfulness is all that is needed in most parts of the US. There are also plenty of places in our cities that only losing a watch might be the best outcome.

Those places should be just fine if you are sticking to the touristy areas of Miami
