Bying Gold Daytona, need some advices

Finally I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on gold daytona watch that I was looking to purchase for quite some time now. I went to my local AD in NY and obviously thry didnt have anything in stock and they need to order the watch. Right now I am in between 3 models, 2 of them on rubber strap and one on a gold bracelet. I really think both bracelets look gorgeous on Daytona, but most likely I am leaning towards gold bracelet thinking if anything I can always get rubber strap later on. My question what do you guys think and how much I can really press my AD guy on the price to get absolutely best deal.
Thanks.

In regards to the strap, I would recommend sourcing it on a bracelet, but that's my opinion. In regards to discount, it may or may not be available - just ask

Get the bracelet and pick up aftermarket rubber strap.
In the past I’ve heard 15-20 % off a PM piece. However, not sure in the current climate.
If I was going after this piece , I’d contact different ADs for pricing.

The second one in rose gold is amazing

Pm pricing is totally diferente to steel pricing

Steel 0% discount

Pm up to 22% discount

You'd be out of your mind to not purchase this from Davidsw or someone similar.

I would get the rose gold bracelet
I would expect at least 20%. That might even put you in a position to bundle with a hot ss model!

For me, one of the best parts of a PM watch is the bracelet...a thing of beauty to enjoy, feel, and marvel at in and of itself.

Nothing against the OF, but I always have felt that they would make a better niche as an alternative to steel bracelet models. I know I read a lot of "if I'm paying that much money, I'm getting a gold bracelet" type comments here on the forum. Just my two cents.

I'd go for the bracelet, might get up to 20% if you're from a smaller AD.

I really wanted the last one you pictured until I saw it in person. The dial is flat and doesn’t look as deep Black in person. I decided to go with the Paul Newman style on oysterflex. Got 15% off, still waiting for it to come in ordered 2 weeks back

Thinking of ordering no. 2; curious how long it takes the AD to fulfill the special order. Please share this information with us Coralfarmer.

I've seen a guy at Costco wearing a rose gold on oysterflex strap. It looked very nice, not flashy at all.

Have to go bracelet, the difference is nominal compared to what you get. There is nothing like an ALL gold watch.

I would get the rose gold Daytona on the rose gold bracelet. Although I would like things to be different I have to say that I would not expect a discount. I know I only saved on sales tax when putting a deposit down on my two tone Daytona.

I vote bracelet too. I’d try to negotiate in the range of an all in price with tax minus 20%. If there is an SS model you want and are in a position to buy now, I’d put that out there too. They might offer you an attractive bundle.

I have the Platona and the WG on OF. The OF gets more wrist time. The Platona is a seriously HEAVY watch.

I prefer the Dayton with ceramic, although that RG on bracelet is a stunner. Do you have any other gold Rolexes?

I’ve had PM Daytona’s on bracelets and on straps.

Hands down the strap is better for me.

Even tried an OF but it wasn’t as nice as the Alligator strap.

I'd love a WG on bracelet myself. I just could never feel it with any type of strap I've ever tried and immediately went back. Of your choices I'd of course recommend the everose on 'bracelet only' especially when buying PM. You should be able to get at least a 20% discount. I just purchased a SS DJ41 and got 15% off and no tax (or tax incl)

Get the bracelet. Going from bracelet to OF is doable financially. Try going from OF to bracelet - you will have a heart attack at the price for a full gold bracelet cost.
