Rolex in the Spa and sauna
Yesterday I used my Explorer II 16570 in the Spa and sauna. I was in +4 seconds and today +8 seconds. What could happen?

Maybe your watch feels more relaxed so it is running faster?

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Rapid changes in temperature are bad, but I thought a sauna would probably be ok, so long as you don’t go from the plunge pool or cold shower straight to the hot sauna.

I'll try to find the post but I read from someone knowledgeable here that the seals are meant to keep out liquids, not gases, and that continued exposure to steam could cause moisture to contact the movement.
Can't say this is what happened to yours, or that any effect would be observable overnight though. I just remember steam = potentially bad. |

Could have gotten magnetized and timing merely coincidental to your sauna trip. That would explain it running fast.

Knows what?
The daily rate change after 24 hours? Reset it, wind it and check it again in a week.

Do you really check your watch for accuracy every day?
Bang it against the wall and see of that fixes it. Works for me. |

This is my experience with my Tag. I own sauna in my house. I had no problem with my Tag going into sauna. I don't expect any problem with Rolex. I know guys who went in steam spa and sauna with they Rolexes and didn't have any issues. Please make sure that the winding crown on your watch was fully screwed in. Also, unscrew the winding crown. Pull back until it's stop. Push back to winding position. Wind your watch. Screw the crown back. Check your watch in a day or two. Post back if the problem exist.

Never had such a problem with my Sub,I do not think that the steam caused harm to your watch.

As a rule I would avoid situations such as that, but I doubt that it has done any damage. Check it over a longer period of time, and get it checked out

That’s been discussed here before and the verdict is that it’s safe to go to the sauna with it
Give it a full wind, wear it for a week or put it on a winder and see what you have

Not worth the risk, could be fine for years and then bang! All steamed up!

My subs seen the inside of both, a lot. Never really a noticeable difference, but I don’t check it daily. I’m sure it’ll be fine

Really? Have seen what watch stickers are worth these days?
To the OP: Fully wind the watch and recheck it.

I've worn every Rolex I've ever owned into a sauna/whirlpool at one time or another and never had any issues.

Tomorrow you’ll get to +16 and still not be feeling the benefits. Give the experience a few more visits and you should start to relax...

I don't know if anything is wrong with your watch, but if anything is wrong, it's not because you took it in the sauna.

I'm pretty sure you're good if it's once in a while occurrence, but if it's a daily exercise then I really can't say
