Icon7 Down to Two: choosing next watch

Alright here’s the situation. Youve got the yellow gold sub black dial 116618ln. Absolutely in love. But other watches obviously are calling your name and want a second watch. Option one is the Dd40 which in my opinion has to be yellow gold. I’d go white or silver dial - completely different dial than my sub. Or the other option is the 116519ln white gold Daytona on oysterflex, very different from the sub. The damn watch calls to me also. Every time I think I make Up my mind, I look At the picture of the other on my wrist and then I’m back to square one. The president band is next level stuff. Amazing. But the Daytona I love And I think Would get so much wrist time. I dont Care about resale either, I look Forward to keeping these. Thank you all for helping me make my stupid decisions (as my wife says) make more sense. Appreciate any feedback from this great group!

That WG Daytona is a thing of beauty. The DD isn’t too shabby either, but I like the idea of two different PM colors and the added Oysterflex. Of course, I’m a sports watch kind of guy so probably no surprise that I lean this way.

I also own a YG Sub and would definitely go for the DD40.

If you go the Daytona way make sure to get one with a bracelet instead of the Oysterflex.

Since you got the sub there is no question your next watch is a DD40 in YG. It will be the perfect combo.

This isn’t what you asked - but, if it was me I’d offload the sub and pick up both the DD and the Daytona.

If you actually want an answer to your question...Daytona for me. Either way you can’t go wrong

With the YG Subc I'd take the WG OF as a devil may care, or a DD40 in RG, I wouldn't have both in YG.

I get the YG thing and have had multiple YG watches in my collection for a limited time in the past. I would not own a PM watch from Rolex that was not on a bracelet. It is one of the major selling points for comfort, construction and appearance. I would go with a white metal and have some options. With that said, go try a Sky-Dweller in either WG or SS and see how it works. If you want to stick with YG go try on the Sky-Dweller and experience one nice watch. You could always move your YG Submariner and add the cash you would spend on the DD and pick up a Platinum DD or Pre-owned Platinum Daytona and stay a one watch guy for a bit. A lot of choices and options. Go try on everything and see what you like and what fits your budget. Good luck and I look forward to seeing an incoming thread.

Both can be tricky to get the right fit. With these two watches, I would make sure I was working with a dealer who knew what they were doing and could get you what you need, (i.e., a 1 1/4 link for the DD or the right size OF strap) in order for you to be satisfied. Last thing you want is to pay this kind of money and then have a watch that doesn't fit.

And...if you're that torn between them, you'll probably end up with both, so just pick the one you want now and get the other one later.

The only acceptable TRF answer is both. But I’d go for the DD first!

Get the Daytona
You can always add the DD when you're older
