So, UK members, was there a price increase?

It’s October 1, the rumored day of a 5% price increase. What’s the verdict? Did it happen?

Yes, it has.
Advised by director of AD at the Rolex Warwick Castle event yesterday evening.

My £9,350 DJ41 is now £9,800 on the Rolex site. +4.81%

It's mainly just a currency exchange rise for the weak pound nothing more.

It happened.

Won't change the availability issue on Professional SS pieces.

More a currency related adjustment than an actual price increase

Yes thats all it was close to 5% increase across the board, some slightly more or less than others so they can keep the figures clean with zero's on the end.

It will be interesting to see if there's a 5% uplift for the Greys (Watchfinder etc) although based on some of the Greys prices it wouldn't surprise me to see 10% increase.

They’ve certainly been pushing prices up the last couple of years but they can’t keep doing it. They’ve dropped the price on the new Pepsi a couple of times. Was nearly 17.5k, then late 16’s, now late 15’s.

UK secondary prices are quite a bit higher than US secondary prices (obviously the shortage is worse too) but WF has been really aggressive in pricing high.

£17.5k for a BLRO is almost $23k and US prices never got that bad and especially considering UK retail was $8800 including tax and US retail is $10k including sales tax... so the UK premium was around $14k in USD terms. That is crazy

thats why they put one of their locations in burlington arcade.... so their prices seem reasonable compared to the rest of the watch shops in there

At midnight, the watch I have on order went from £9,900 to £10,350. Unwelcome but not disastrous. The models I can't get from ADs could cost anything, because wouldn't make any difference.

In the meantime the Tudor prices stay the same and you are more likely to find them in the shops.

There’s been a 3-5% increase across the board by the looks of things. Merely a currency correction, Rolex are still cheaper on this side of the pond even after the increase.

I can’t see it making any difference to UK stock levels, no-one who can spend £6,500 on a watch will be put off now it costs £6,800. Particularly when they trade £1-2k more than that on the grey market.

Doing the math on the increase, I come to realize that the UK had been getting discounts vs rest of the world in Rolex watches and probably primary reason of the hotter market. At 1.30 US$ per Pound, prices don´t reach US prices by a long shot. With the 5% price "increase", this in my view is merely a price adjustment.

half true. Foreign buyers are getting a discount not paying in GBP. Its still 5% more for people based in pounds though as they cant take advantage of the currency advantage.

I happen to be based in US dollars so i have been getting Rolex watches at a healthy discount for a while now. Its still cheaper than US prices + sales tax.

Its a price adjustment to me

Stopped at my mum's for weekend last week and went to Doncaster town center, went into AD for a chat which is same company as your AD in Sheffield. They had no professional models on display which was unusual as I see explorers ,YMs on display window every time I visit.
Asked the manager Nicole If they had any explorer II in stock and she told me there's a waiting list for that reference and at least 3 month wait.
She said she could put me on list but I wasn't interested so I politely declined the offer.
On Monday when price increase happened, I past this AD again and they had both black and polar explorer IIs , blue faced YM , full gold sub on display with new increased price tags. So yeah, I won't be buying from Doncaster store since they lied to my face. Definitely holding stock back

That’s unfortunate
Not sure why they would do that

James at the Sheffield store called me and told me about the price increase and if i wanted it at current prices i would need to buy before the monday price increase.

Meadowhall Goldsmiths had a polar exp 2 in the window on sunday mate

If you think about it, it’s not really a price increase, it’s “price adjustment”
With the British pound value decreasing, an ounce of gold now costs about 5% less (standardizing variables) so if you look at it in dollar or euro amount, it’s now about the same it was a year ago!

Tell why would anyone buy a watch from WF and pay 15% over the odds? Are these people very rich or just your average idiot?
