Do I swap? White Gold BLRO

What a decision to make, the epitome of first world problems.

I've succumbed to the realm of public forum to hear the opinions of all regarding this opportunity.

Do I swap the dial on my new white gold BLRO?

Offered by Rolex Canada as a complimentary service, confirmed today.

They will not provide me with an updated warranty card, so i will always have a card that states the dial colour as black. I will receive documentation to state the change was completed.

I think blue goes much better with the bezel.

Hmm...I think I would. The blue has really grown on me. Didn't think it would, but it has. My vote is for yes.

When I saw both in person I preferred the black dial. But I would equally be happy with a blue.

Imo, I wouldn't swap. Not enough to sway me to the blue and I like the originality of the watch so stick with the black.

If it were me, I absolutely would. The watch did nothing for me with the black dial. So I bought the 11619LB because I wanted a WG sports watch. When I saw your watch with the blue dial, I was sorry I didn’t wait. Of course how was I to know Rolex was going to release this. Plus, you will have something unique with regards to documentation stating the dial swap. Maybe collectible in 20-30 years. Better than a poke in the eye

With the black dial out of production it will probably be a more rare version. From your prior post I was under the impression you called AD's across Canada in search of the black dial (?). Otherwise I'm sure you can easily order in the newer blue dial and have all the correct papers to match, plus no potential issues from a rebuild by RSC. Good luck in your decision. Cheers!

I have thought about this a lot. I’ve come to the conclusion that I prefer my black dial version. I tried the blue on at my AD’s Rolex rollout event and it just didn’t sing to me enough. As has been said by another member, I’d probably be as satisfied with the blue, but I’m happy enough with the black, for now!

New blue dial is discontinued buddy. Be interesting to see if OP does go for the blue dial - if it'll be allowed

Blue is now out of production too making it a 6 month run and my bet is that will make it a very rare watch. I have been debating doing the switch and think I am going to go ahead and switch to blue.

A 6 month run of blue with who knows how many sold? None of the 6 AD's in my state ever received a blue dial wg while they all received and sold one or more black dials.

Collectability is hard to predict so who knows what the future holds for either dial.

I really like the blue face, myself.

I was pleasantly surprised when Rolex offered a face swap for BLRO owners. I would do it.

Okay, my bad then, I was missing some critical information that there are rumors the blue dial may be discontinued just a few months into the run.

https://www.luxewatches.co.uk/rolex-...ef-116719blro/

I had no idea about this (what a surprise!) and slipped past my radar. So now I would say get the blue dial if that's what you like. Cheers!

There is sometimes a difference between an offer and it being done albeit rarely. We are in new territory with a such a random cut off on a particular ref. It could be a situation where everyday that passes gets rapidly close to a new situation. Rolex tend to announce with no warning. Reading back I should have been more clear. I'm also particularly interested for how long they will keep this service for a discontinued watch. It's not terribly keeping with some other examples I know with dial swaps.

I never accused you of saying the blue dial isn't the blue dial...

I remember in your other thread that you said the WG BLRO was your grail. What dial color did you envision when you were dreaming about it?
