Datejust II....which of these two colors would you pick?
Right now I have a GMT Master II, one of the new Breitling Navitimer GMTs (with the new in-house Breitling movement), and a Breitling Bentley 6.75. All three have black dials.
I have decided to get rid of my Bentley 6.75 because I feel the Navitimer and the 6.75 are redundant (and I feel the Navitimer is more versatile as I can wear with metal bracelet or leather straps). I rarely ever wear the 6.75 as a result. I wear the GMT Master II with suits (since the Breitlings are too big, I feel) and casually. Anyways, I think I've decided to replace that with a two-tone gold/silver Datejust II. I feel the gold might give be something "different" versus the watches I already have. Fluted dial is a must. What are your guys thoughts on the slate dial with green lettering versus the black dial with Arabic numbers? I feel the black dial with Arabic looks cleaner than the black dial with roman numbers as that looks way too cluttered. However, I almost feel another black-dialed watch is still going to be redundant despite the presence of the gold. Then I noticed the slate dial.....even though it has roman numerals I don't feel it looks cluttered like the black dialed one. Plus, the slate dial seems to match the steel coloring of the bracelet pretty good. I just feel it might be cleaner (plus the green color of the lettering reminds me of the Rolex logo colors). Thoughts on these two colors? I know it's personal preference..... |

I would prefer the Arabic numerals in this case instead of the romans. They look nice.

Slate. It reflects the light in all kinds of lighting. Plus, it's restrained. I have the Wimbledon dial, which I love, but it's not for everybody. Good luck whatever you decide.

Romans all the way, they add a little nostalgia and history to this style of watch.

Ooooh I love both of those, and DJIIs generally. I’ve actually though about these two a lot as I’m also a bit of a “TT guy”- they both look equally great to me, and the tie breaker is full lume of the Arabics.
Hard to go wrong either way. |

Slate Romans all day every day. The 9 o'clock baton balances the date window nicely.

The more I know about Rolex, the more I appreciate the Wimbledon dial.....Not many casual buyers will want green on their watches but an enthusiast would....

The last time I brought home an Arabic dial, my teenage son told me it looked like it was from TJ Maxx. Sold it immediately so there's my $.02

I tried on the DJII wimbledon a few years back and it was amazing. It was THE watch that opened my eyes to wanting to own the DJII. The color green and Rolex just go together. It is a stunner in real life and the pics dont do it justice IMO.

I used to have the Wimbledon TT and LOVED it. Traded it for the greytheme AP however, it's the watch I misses the most and I think I miss it more than my twotone sub gmt-c and Deepsea. Always find myself considering getting it back every now and then.
