Decision Time: Hulk, 16570 Polar ExpII, 216570 ExpII
I'm down to 3! Have my eventual heart set on a gold sub or gold DD 40, but in the meantime I'm looking to round out my collection.
I'm between the 3: HULK $11-12k 16570 Polar Explorer II (red hand) $4-7k 216570 Explorer II (orange hand) $7-9k Some brief background:
One may say "you need a sub", in which case the Hulk would take center stage. But my other dilemma is that I like the 42mm of the explorer II (orange), and I do not have a white-faced watch. Different colored watch face is intriguing to me as all of mine are black. Please let me know your thoughts or illustrate anything I may have not thought of. I do love GMT watches but I also love the sub. |

Decision Time: Hulk, 16570 Polar ExpII, 216570 ExpII
Ive owned the hulk and 16570. I traded my hulk for the 16570 and now own the kermit. You be the judge.

I have both. It would be really hard for me to let one go in favour of the other. I'd keep the Polar if I had no choice but to let one go. Love the Sub. But the Polar looks equally good in a different way. It has more functionality for my needs (I need two time zones more than a timer) is easier for me to read and the blue lumes on the white dial are remarkable to behold. It's a personal thing.

I have the hulk, BLNR and polar 216570 from your list and if I was choosing it would be the polar 216570.
I travel a lot and really appreciate the dual time but more importantly the ability to jump the hour without stopping the watch (not possible with sub) also the brushed Exp 2 works well as a more casual watch compared to the more dressy BLNR. So why not the 40 mm EXP2, I also love the big hands and the the orange hand which is supper legible and finally I love the white dial and proportions of the 42mm. All cool watches so can’t go wrong, enjoy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow - IMO you are trying to choose between the best looking Rolex in the range and the ugliest. Suffice to say the hulk is the former and definitely the one you should go for

I was just trying to say it's more polite to state your choice without insulting the others - it's just the way I was raised.

I flipped my white 16570 for a 116610LV and haven’t regretted the trade for a second.

I’ve have both 5 and 6 series GMTs and have been eyeing the polar. The hulk is gorgeous, but I just don’t need a dive watch. The legibility of the 42mm polar is amazing.

The white explorers are a very very nice watch. I'm fond of the white 42mm.
It will go with everything. If you buy a Hulk just make sure you really really like green. Many on here have bought one and sold it including myself. Honeymoon period runs out after a few months. |

I quoted you all because I really appreciate the replies (and i don't know how to tag ppl).
Seems like consensus is split, as I would have and should have suspected for 2 very different watches. Very impressed to see how many of you actually have a polar explorer 2. As I said before, the GMT is appealing both because I travel (my BLNR is my primary travel watch due to ease of changing time zones) AND because I do not currently own a white-faced watch. But the Hulk is the Hulk, and I love the way the face changes color in different lighting. And i love the ceramic green bezel. Any ideas as to why the large price gap between the 3 models, specifically the Hulk and the Explorers? Quote:

The Hulk is one of the most desirable watches in the world, the buyer should be grateful to be offered a chance to purchase one.
The 216570 is always a fallback plan when the one you want is not available , which is most of the time. 16570 is always available and being begged to be accepted, its like someone's least favourite friend; this is no disrespect to owners but a definitive worldwide opinion.

I really like the current Explorer II. The size is perfect and the dial is crisp and clean looking. It’s a durable and useful reference. I have never been able to appreciate the green Submariner for some reason. I don’t like the folded clasp 5 digit models when an updated version is available.

LVc gets my vote here! It’s the more sought after for a reason!
Very versatile The beautiful sunburst dial It’s a sub, arguably the most iconic Rolex Moving bezel Good luck
