As a preferred client, I was offered the opportunity to purchase this time piece. Asking 96K. Anyone have any background on this watch? Advice?

Well, I highly doubt you'll see any of those around or
many wearing that reference if any...

Someone posted a thread about that reference not too long ago
here.... It's a beauty that's for sure..

If you can I say go for it if it sings to you...

I don't know the msrp. If that's the msrp I'd definitively try to
get a concession if possible...

I love it!!! It reminds me od the AP frosted gold piece. As much as I like it, I can’t see a situation outside of being at my house that I would wear it.

But, I have some I don’t wear outside of my house anyway, so I say GO FOR IT!

I was shooting the breeze with my AD back when the previous thread was around and asked his thoughts on this watch.

He said he had a client who was ready to buy it, but that the AD couldn't get one from Rolex.

I say if you like it and can afford it go for it!

That’s a nice looking watch. Kind of flashy for me, but if you like it go for it!

Buy it man! I saw it once and its beautiful, sells at a premium here in asia (resellers) so no dice for me but good for you.

The dial is beautiful (sunburst) and the gems is set tastefully and im not a diamond guy.

It's sweet - beautiful watch. If I had the money, I'd wear one on each wrist.

That's a lotta watch! Not for me but the diamond lug-work and crown guards are especially interesting. From (the little) I've read, these two features are the most polarizing features for many that otherwise like the reference.

I'd love to see one in person. Any way ya look at it - It's a unique piece. That alone gives it a certain cachet.

Rolex should think about re-issuing an updated Serti dial. It was 'flash' but classy.

Thanks for posting!
Mark

I wish there were no diamonds on the case, but the dial and bezel are lovely.

I've been very seriously thinking about picking up a used Serti sub. It's not just the gems -- the champagne and slate dials are very pretty.

This type of watch really screams celebrity status. If you're in that line of work then it's pretty darn good looking without being really over the top. But honestly, unless you're headed out to the CMA's, the Oscars, or something of the sort I think I'd say to myself that this may be a little overkill for the morning Jamba Juice and, "I coulda had a Patek, or 9 more Rolee's". Or better yet, a new Z06 in that burgundy color that just keeps calling to me....

Why isn't this featured on the Rolex website or the catalogues? Such a pretty piece. Wonder what other 'secret' pieces are available! Very interesting

That's a very interesting piece, and the first time I see it. The dial is absolutely beautiful. If you do buy it, I'm sure many of us will look forward to some wrist shots!

Not for me. If I had the money for this reference and was going to put it into one watch there are a lot more interesting and collectable watches on the market from PP, VC or Lange.

Rarely seen and a very unique Sub.
If you love it and can pull it off, go for it.
Too much bling for me.

Rolex Sub sport watch transformed to piece of jewelry. Doesn't look right to me, I would rather go for Patek.

Fast forward 5-10-20 years and go look at this watch at an auction. I'm 99% certain it won't disappoint.

A Patek and such does sound better but I wouldn't underestimate this watch. It's unique to say the least.

I Agree with this, we all know rolex makes more watches than holy trinity but when rolex makes a watch this beautiful in less than 30 pieces for example (think rainbow daytona) then it will be a rare piece in future

They even ditches the depth rating on the front. Would it still do 1000ft?
