What Blemishes are acceptable when purchasing from an AD?

I picked up my ND sub about 2 weeks ago. I noticed what looks like 2 spec of dust on the inside of the lugs one day. Upon further inspection it turns out that they are actually pin marks that you would commonly see from a strap change. I haven’t changed the straps on this ND yet so it definitely came from Rolex this way. I peeled the stickers off myself

What do you guys think? Bring this up to the AD or just accept them

I’d just leave it. But that’s me. I have some friends though that it would drive crazy.

You have to decide.

Haha well I have some history with this AD. I bought my BLNR from them and found a scratch on the crown side. They got me another one in less than a week. I don’t want to become THAT person that’s a pain to sell to if you know what I mean

If you can change it then do it or your watch is worth $1k less now If anybody sees it... No scratches aloud on subc's now since they're jewelry, only on pre ceramics are aloud scratches since they're a real man's tool watch.

Was it sitting in the case or did you take it out of the coffin?

How does it even happen, it’s not like SS models are sitting in window for customers to handle?

Had to have happened in either packaging or when Rolex installed the bracelet?

Negligible in my opinion. The 'cost / benefit' ratio here is not worth the trouble. You'll be without your new watch for God knows how long but the real unknown is taking the risk of possibly having something else happen, maybe something worse, during service. A long shot for sure, but it happens.

Forget it and enjoy. It's a beautiful Rolex.

You mentioned you picked up the watch 2 weeks ago and you removed the stickers off the watch. Did you notice these marks after wearing the watch or prior to wearing the watch?

I’d go back and discuss with AD. That’s why you didn’t purchase online.

The ADs made me remove the stickers before I took the watch home. I looked it over there and could’ve easily missed the marks in the lighting. I wore it about 5 times in the 2 weeks, all very carefully

It is very possible that the marks got there from wearing it, even very carefully as you state.

Going back to the AD 2 weeks after purchase and claiming the marks were there prior to purchasing is pointless. Your AD is going to say they happened from you wearing the watch over the past 2 weeks.

The marks are minor. Enjoy your watch.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m almost positive I they were there from the factory but they would still argue your aforementioned point. And I would be worried to ruin my history with them

Sadly it’s two weeks into the purchasing history, I wouldn’t honor the complain not knowing how you use the watch. At this point, you might have to learn to live with it. Good luck with your decision.

The question is could Rolex have missed the flaw (their fault) or did it happen in the last two weeks. Really, AD’s don’t bite. You paid the money. Get it off your chest. The watchmaker will have an opinion.

The thing is... anyone taking the bracelet off that watch would do it from the back. I think you've probably done it and not realised it.

Live with it, and just ignore it!

I dinged my SS SkyD bezel at that same spot less than a week wearing it.

Agree. If it was from bracelet removal, they’d be on the back.

I can barely see it in your updated pics. I’d probably let it slide since it’s already been 2 weeks, it is so difficult to see, and chances are you’ll get more dings and scuffs from wearing it. Your watch your call though. If it bothers you that much maybe you should talk to them.

Probably the smallest of many dings to come.
I just whacked by two week old BLRO and put a dent in it.
Pressure is over.
Can move on with my life.

It looks like the bracelet was pulled the wrong way during removal.

Life is to short to be worryied about a mark you have to zoom in on to see, in a year those marks will blend in with the rest of them. My advice, wear your watch, not carefully, just wear and enjoy.
