Brand new SubC date has soared over 10k at Grays.

Was browsing DavidSW and was surprised to see a new SubC date going for over 10k. Never thought I'd see the day. It used to be very easy to obtain one at retail from any local AD not too long ago..

Used w/box and papers are still at or below retail right? their sales standards are so good, could pass for new anyway.

Slightly above retail at Bob's. David SW doesn't have any pre-owned at the moment.

I'm quite surprised the disparity in pricing between the LV and LN SS 6 digits. Still too big of difference in pricing between the 2. Either the LV is a seriously overvalued watch or the LN undervalued. I'm not surprised they're converging, I am surprised it took so long...

If i had to wear one for a month? the LV, but the keeper is the LN imho. It's versatility and classic look is iconic. I'm in agreement with you here.

As strange as it sounds it's the most under appreciated watch in the current lineup in this "instagram age". "Presence" gives you follows and the LV will do that in pics, but black is THE watch.

It's going to get worse for Christmas. I bought my SubC last Nov. from an AD with a 7% discount and tax incl.

That's a silly premium to pay for a commonly available watch. Patience !

U can’t blame the greys. If there wasn’t a supply vs demand issue, we wouldn’t see these prices. Right now it’s a pay to play game right now with the shortage, what ever the reason for it.

They had BLNR too last year on the regular. Think that has dried up.

Is the supply tightening even more, or is this the last gasp before it loosens up?

They wont sell for that price. You notice how the big Grays list a few K more than what is actually selling?

So when you msg them and ask "what is the best price" there is room for negotiation. Just like when you sell a car - list as high as you think it "may" sell for to someone desperate to buy (or stupid enough).

Then it will sell for several thousand less. Thats all.

Look at the selling prices of SS BLRO's. Dropping significantly since 6 months ago. Big grays still listing them for $18k they are selling for $16s and private sales in the $15s now

My subc nd bought last year july from an AD with discount is 6.7k usd only.

Recently went to that same AD asked for subc, they have one on stock. the price now is 8k usd, and they don’t give discount nowadays.

The sale person told me the increase is due to supply and demand.

yes, the price is getting ridiculous right now. and I believe it will start to drop very soon. especially the hulk, definitely
not worth the current 13K grey market price.

Good question - people mention a future downturn- just wonder what that forecast is based upon, and even if it happens, could prices realistically drop back to sensible levels?

Why should Rolex put more investment in stuff and equipment if the market generally remains the same and all this hype is a speculation bubble?
