Skytransient

Hello folks,

I read the forums often and very much appreciate all the photos and conversations. I recently traded my GMT2 Ceramic Black Dial for a DJ2 Stick Blue Face.

I could not be happier. The watch is very classy and the blue face is stunning.

In truth. I was hunting for a Blue Face sky dweller but the prices are simply not realistic for me. I think this is the next best thing.

Hence, I have coined the term "Skytransient"

Congrats!
Is it the dj41 or DJII? Looks more like the II to me, but maybe it’s just the pic getting me

Congrats! That’s definitely the dj2 not the 41, but still looks great!

I was thinking the same thing. While it looks great, it does look like a DJ2

Yes yes. My apologies. It is in fact a DJ2, NOT a 41.

Looks Great.

I wanted a Skydweller as well, but i'm thinking the DJ2 or DJ41 can give me a similar look and cheaper.

I have a blue sky-d, And I'm going to pick up a blue DJ41 soon... that or Rhodium... still deciding...

My sky-d is amazing... but it is a "busy" watch. I personally, don't think its very dressy. It's a great casual watch, but out on an evening. I want something more classy, but not super classy.. ie my PP's are useless for this role.

DJ41 fits it perfectly.

That is a very interesting comment. I got away from the GMT2 because I wanted something for suit and tie stuff. I am very happy with my trade.

I am now hunting for something that I can use in more casual settings, maybe an explorer?

I still lust for the SD, maybe next year.

I mean GMT's are basically gimmicks at best. If I was diving in a cave fine... but lets be honest. My phone can track a billion time zones all at once, with greater accuracy than my watch.

My watch should be able to tell the time instantly at first glance (that's its advantage over my phone), and that is the Sky-D's shortcoming it takes more than a quick millisecond glance... not much longer, but noticeably.

Also the annual calendar is fantastic... but also pointless. I alter my watches by the crown at least twice a month to correct for time keeping... me changing the date from the 31'st to the 1st isn't a big deal or even a nuisance.. its turning the bezel + turning the crown, first world problems yo?

The DJ2 I think actually is the same size, if not a tiny bit bigger actually. I love my Sky-Dweller... but its certainly not my go to watch... I actually pick up my Rolex Explorer more than anything at the moment... but I go through phases. (I am a less is more person though... I prefer understated class than loud, brash)

I think you'd be surprised at the Sky-Dwellers, they're not as impressive as you'd first think. I really coveted it... but I was a little under-whelmed quite honestly...

It has crossed my mind about selling it, due to the obscene prices... but I don't really need the money... so I'll keep it for now.

Again. That’s very insightful. I will consider this post in the future.

Very nice blue dial. I like the way that Rolex does blue.

You're welcome. If I were you, I would be happy and keep on looking at that blue dial and how clean / uncluttered it is. Love your watch! :)
