Tudor GMT - close but no cigar

I'm from the States. Since I was heading to Europe, several months ago I arranged to purchase a Tudor GMT while I'm there. I wrote an AD in Barcelona. He quoted me a very nice tax-free price (since the EU will refund VAT tax). Arrived in Barcelona yesterday to discover he doesn't have one.

Close, but no cigar...

Last stop is London. I'm not holding my breath on finding one.

bad luck, recently Rabat on Passeig de Grącia have had one in the window on a couple of occasions. The only 2 dealers in BCN are Rabat and GR. A few weeks ago I was in GR and they still had not received their first one.

That is always disheartening. Sorry you didn’t get the GMT but I wish you the best of luck on the next stop. But watch or no watch, enjoy the heck out of the trip!

Well that sticks.

I too just returned from 3 weeks in Europe and found the shortage of inventory there is as here in the states.

Regardless, enjoy one of my very favorite places in the world.

Thanks for the encouraging comments! The good news is I took delivery of my first Rolex, a 14060 Sub, just before leaving. It needed another link to fit my wrist, which my son has tracked down and installed. So I've got a Sub waiting for me to ease the pain of no Tudor GMT. :)

I was talking with Rabat, and called GR. I have no hard feelings with Rabat, I'm sure they we're hoping to have one when I arrived.

I love Barcelona! Always nice to spend time here each year.

Have a look at Heathrow when you leave London. They usually have a pretty good stock of Tudors. You might just get lucky!

Rabat are OK, I bought a Tudor GMT from Jaoquin in June and all was good. It was the first batch in Spain. I also have an 114060 from GR and they are great folks to deal with. It seems like our tastes are the same. Also, I speak Japanese. there seems to be a lot of symmetry going on.
