Anyone repeatedly get bored with the same watch?

Mine is the SubC. Had two. 114060, now 116610... currently have an itch for a 114300 white. I feel like I would 95% regret that move so I won’t make it. Just maybe need to safe queen the sub for a few weeks and enjoy my bb58. Maybe I’ll miss it.

Anyway, anyone else have a watch they can’t get away from but at the same time lack the contentment?

Just like I don't wear the same clothes every day, I don't wear the same watch all of the time either.

I have enough watches that I don't have the problem of getting bored with any, which is not to say that I don't begin to feel like I've worn a particular one long enough.

In such cases, I just move on to another in the collection, whether it be an inexpensive Timex or a relatively expensive Rolex or many others in between.

The thought that goes through my head every morning "Which watch would I like to wear today?" Only got 3 though, Apple Watch, BLNR and a DJ36. All do different things, some more subtle than the others.

While I have just about enough watches to wear a different one every day of the month, I have a bad habit of buying new straps to change things up when I really feel bored with my current collection.

I wish there were more hours in the day, or days in the week, to wear and enjoy each of the pieces in the collection.

18 years with my 16610 and I feel more connected to it than ever, never get bored of looking at it on my wrist. Classic Rolex.

It's possible to get bored with a watch no matter what the price. But if it holds some personal significance, then it could make you a one-watch man.

This happens to me always until I get the 116610LN, more than a year and I still in honeymoom period. Modetn 6 digits Rolex are my watch!

To answer the original question, I’m not getting much joy out of the Speedmaster anymore but am hanging on to it just because it belongs in any collection (and am kind of hoping the love will come back one day).

The Speedmaster is the biggest strap whore out there...literally everything looks good on it. Go shopping for some new straps and you'll surely find the love connection again!

Awesome price of advice. I usually throw some in the safety deposit box and wear one or two for awhile. Soon with “outta sight outta mind” I am ready to throw some old friends on the wrist.

I appreciate this post. My love for watches is not new, however only 2 years into being lucky enough to own them. You mean that 10 years after going through many, or keeping what You have and will eventually appreciate / love them more in 10 years (give or take)?
