Anyone have an Orient Mako USA II?
Stumbled across this watch when looking for a cheap diver. Wanted something with hacking movement with screw down crown and a sapphire crystal. For the price (~$315) this seems like a good deal. Has solid end links too.
Curious if anyone here has any experience with this watch and can give me some positives & negatives? Thanks Also not sure which color I prefer. Love the blue but WOW there's something about that white dial that's got my attention! |

I have the white. Like the semi skx family, it’s a solid watch.

Had a Mako I, decent beater for about 2 years, then the crown fell out. That said, I have read the USA Mako's are better. Overall, Orient makes a good watch considering the price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if I liked it.

I recall someone asking for wrist shots of the white US Mako but can’t seem to find the thread using search function. So posting here:
It really is a well-designed watch. Perfect size, comfortable, solid bracelet, legible dial. I wish there was an option for an upgraded more accurate movement though. But hard to complain at this price point . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Looks nice! Think I requested it. Probably in the Seiko forum. Thanks.

I had the white one but the crown frustrated me, it didn't lock in easily or smoothly and I returned it. I have experienced that with a few of the Orients I have owned. Funny, but I got a Seiko Turtle with a similar problem this week and my repair guy just shot a little oil in and it is better. I've had some good luck w Orients and wore a diver for a month or two and enjoyed it, then bailed. The white one had a nice review in one of the online sites, that pushed me into it. Maybe I'll try again sometime... an intriguing company, good luck with it, I am getting ready to post about one I have...

I have a several years old (10?) Orient diver and the bezel is frozen stuck.
