Having to choose between these two beauties...

One of my GMT’s (BLNR or CHNR) will sadly have to go. Surprisingly I have found a blue dial skydweller from an AD.

Unfortunately, I can not justify more than three watched so one of my GMT’s will have to go and my first watch, the LVc (Hulk sounds better) is there to stay.

I like them both the GMT’s very much but prefer personally the CHNR. The issue is that replacing the BLNR is extremely hard and it may also be discontinued.

The CHNR is a two tone. It’s an excellent piece but relatively new and I should be able to source one after a few years below MRSP due to it being a two tone.

So based on this I’m thinking of selling my CHNR and keeping the BLNR.

Do you think it’s the right choice ?

Not certain how easy the CHNR will be to get based on your premise. The watch seems of have broken the SS only barrier. Hey, set your rudder and sail your course; not much else to do.

I disagree. I would get rid of the BATMAN as after Basel it is highly likely that the new upgraded model will come out with the new dial and movement.

Selling the Batman you can realize a profit while selling the CHNR will probably set you back from what you paid. These things aside and after seeing both in person, the CHNR is the nicer watch.

If you like the CHNR better, I would keep that one... Also, you might as well move the BLNR now while it's a hot commodity. I would think this would be the best time to unload it. If you don't prefer it, no sense in worrying about what it would take to acquire it later, right??

Good luck

I'd let the two-tone go, personally, I don't find the color scheme all that appealing. My .02 this Monday morning.

For the simple reason, the BLNR could see a new movement after Basel 2019. I would keep the CHNR.

But isn’t it possible that the BLNR will get discontinued ?

If I were you, I'd keep the CHNR if that's the one I preferred. Simple as that. To me, a small premium whether paying or putting in my pocket isn’t worth having to likely reaquire a watch at a later time. Personally, the BLNR is one of the favorite watches I've owned so that's the one I'd keep. Plus, I'm not a TT guy.

I would do the same. CHNR is hot now because it's a new offer of this year. At the end of the day it is a still a modern TT period. Chances are good you can buy it back in a few years with better price (or at least the same if brought from AD) than today if you change your mind.

BLNR had better future.

However I also agree you should keep the one you like more if you are not convinced .

I wouldn’t worry about future sourcing or availability. Just keep the watch you like and enjoy more.

I would bet the CHNR is not going to be so easy to source, let alone at any discount as there are long lists for this new model and it’s selling way above msrp by our trusted sellers. I wouldn’t buy a new watch at this point. Being discontinued or getting a good discount is meaningless if you truely buy the watch you like and plan to wear.

From someone who recently had to do something similar...keep the watch you like most. I liked my SD50 better than my BLNR (larger wrist and it just fit me better). I had to sell one. I am so happy I kept the watch I liked more. Nice little profit on the BLNR too.

You have an LV, so you've got "Green" covered!

You are picking up a Blue Dial Sky Dweller....so now you'll have "Blue" covered!

Keep the CHNR, and you've got the "Black" covered!

That seems like the most logical way to go. Gives you a very nicely rounded collection as well with a lot of variety. This is what I'd do.

BTW, the CHNR looks great on your wrist!

Regardless of popularity, if you like the CHNR more then I’d say that’s the one you should keep. Wear what you like!

There's your answer.

Keep what you like and forget the rest. The point isn't to own a watch based on what might happen but instead to own the watch that you enjoy wearing.

Life is now

Stop planning years ahead

Stay with what you like now (chnr )

You don’t need to get back to your starter pieces later on

You have to move on and progress, not step back

I agree, CHNR have to go and will go down in value in the future because it's a TT.
