I've been a long time lurker on this site, but never posted much.

Anyhow, since the holidays are around the corner I've been contemplating on getting a watch for the wife. After doing some research, I settled on the Oyster Perpetual 34mm white dial. It's not a SS sports model, I figured it's probably readily available... Much to my disbelief, I called my regular dealer along with 4 other stores, no one seems to have this piece in stock. Realigned my expectation, I proceed to order it with my regular dealer and asked for a discount. Got a hard no

... I've purchased 4 watches and jewelries from this place, nonetheless, they wouldn't even budge on 5%

Am I missing something? I understand SS sports models are in high demand and no one is willing to discount, but an Oyster Perpetual? Am I missing something or am I getting shafted?
