I don't understand the popularity of the BLNR...

Let me start by saying this thread is not to bash the BLNR. Quite the opposite as I would like to understand what forum members like about this reference and share some of their pics.

For some reason this watch has not appealed to me. Not sure if it's the blue tone of the bezel or the GMT hand, or the PCLs.

Thanks for reading. Have a good weekend...

me either. the half blue is good, colour tone really spot on. but i dont like it with the half black bezel and black dial. may be a blue dial would be much better.

You mentioned “for some reason” and “not sure” to indicate you can’t quite put into words why the BLNR doesn’t appeal to you. I’m guessing that those same phrases apply to many of us for whom the watch greatly appeals.

I love mine.... The blue is the best part. Nothing like a little pop of color

I can see your points OP. Have you ever spent time wearing one or are you going from internet pics?

They do say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder what some like others dont, myself not a fan of the modern Daytona even if they advertised one at half price.

1. I love GMTs. I think the GMT is the most useful complication and Rolex does the GMT better than anyone else.

2. I love the blue and black. Blue is my favorite color.

3. The ceramic bezel is fantastic.

4. The crown is a major upgrade over prior Rolex GMTs.

5. At 40 mm on a maxi-case, the fit is perfect for me.

6. I actually like PCLs.

Taste is so subjective and difficult to explain. I think it's an amazing looking watch. I just seems to work as a whole. The watch seems to flow together nicely with enough highlights to make it interesting and different.

I like the BLNR the way it is and would not change a thing. Get one now before they discontinue it:)

Its my favourite GMT, a good balance of utility and class and not as "bling" as some of the others in the GMT range.

I love my BLNR part of the reason is the beautiful contest between the black and blue goes from subtle to vibrant in different light situations. The blue GMT hand is great as well, i also like the pcls but that's just me.

I always loved it until I saw one in the flesh, thing it was the polished middle on the bracelet that put me off a little

I let mine go after three years because I made the mistake of buying the hype and not the watch.

It either blows your skirt up or it doesn't. It doesn't do it for me.

Great complication and handsome blue/black combo that's very versatile. Great mix between sport and dress with the pcl oyster bracelet. Really is a keeper.

Older ones can be a delight; the ceramic version, not so much. To me it looks like a design intended to shout 'Rolex.'
I'm also puzzled by the suggestion that a GMT complication is useful. These days, there are far easier ways; it's really just a likeable add-on. Mind you, I enjoy chronos, and they're equally irrelevent.

Photos don't really do it justice; I find it perfectly appealing when I see it in the wild, but I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of appealing photos of it I've seen (no offense intended to owners who have posted photos of theirs!!!).

All the comments thus far could be applied in general to all the Rolex models. We all have our own preferences and what floats my boat will sink yours.

The colors of the BLNR work with my work attire so it is sort of my work watch. What’s not to love about a Rolex GMT? There isn’t an iteration in the catalog I would reject wearing.
The Black indicating night and the blue day makes the most sense of the colors they make on the GMT. That is, if I actually used it as intended and not just for time keeping where I live (just being honest). It’s beautiful, however I will add I put mine on a 97200/glidelock as PCLs are not my thing.

That’s why there is chocolate and vanilla and dozens more choices.
BLNR my favorite in my stable of 20 or more Rolex watches and I have many more pricey options. Mine wears so comfortably that it stays on my wrist.
LV-C I had and flipped because the green wasn’t attractive. Original LV is a keeper though.
To each his own.

BLNR is a great and nice watch... Very comfy on the wrist
but these insane current prices make it a turn off...

Almost $11K for one that's 3 or 4 years preowned and now
Almost $13K for a new one that's $8950 msrp... Not my money...
