Stepping down from the TT Sub - Proud owner of new 114060!
Purchased, as my first Rolex, the TT black dial Sub from my local AD this past August. I bought the watch as my one and only daily beater. I found that I continued to wrestle with the "flash" of the watch and couldn't pull off the look of the watch with weekend casual attire.
Put the wheels in motion to sell the TT and picked up this beauty from the AD a few days ago! Love it! I will admit it will take a few days to get used to not having a date reference. |

This is a true classic, but I too often look for the date. You will get used to it

Great pick up! Personally I would never consider getting what I want (and is the best fit) as step down even if it is less expensive. Congrats on making the right (for you) move!

Nice pick up. Sometimes I consider doing the opposite, go from SS to TT but usually change my mind after a few days. I do think you should have gotten the date, I couldn’t get used to not having it and had to get rid of mine for the date.

I own both and love both equally. Do not look at the 114060 as a step down, it holds its own against anything......

Did the exact same, had a Bluesy, sold it, bought a 114060, loved that for a year, then I went back to a DJ41 TT black dial on Jub

I hate to say it, but I never did get used to not having a date feature on my Seamaster 300. It's the reason I upgraded to the Sub Date and ultimately sold the Omega. But for people who don't need a date feature or don't care, the no-date Sub is a great choice - great symmetry and classic look. For the OP's sake, I hope he does get used to it, and doesn't find himself in a few months hunting yet again for The One.

My subc rocks. No date to set. These days date is everywhere. Subc is simple and functional. Keep it clean by showering with it once a week. Tooth brush and Ivory bar soap is all that's needed.

Thanks for the replies! Since putting the the first Rolex ever watch on my wrist this summer I am afraid I’ll always have an eye for the next one!
