Which do you think has a Better Proportion in overall design?

The Day-Date 36 or Day-Date 40?
Let’s cast aside our opinions about which is more wearable, as that would depend on wrist size and personal preference. If we purely looking at the case, bezel, lugs, width to thickness ratio...which one of the two, in your eyes, has a better proportion?

I'd be delighted to own either. I prefer the 40mm.

Got a smaller wrist, so 36mm would be my preference.

Both are great. It’s personal preference. I have a 7.5 inch wrist so I’d go 40mm.

36 fits and looks better proportioned when I'm wearing a suit. When I'm wearing casual clothing especially t-shirts I think 40 looks sportier.

40mm hands down. Not only IMO 36mm is outdated.

I love the 36 size BUT the 40 has a thinner case the integrated bracelet looks way better. The larger bezel is nice too. And I may be wrong but doesn’t it have an upgraded movement?

Wearing though the 40 is too heavy.

I prefer the 36. This thread would be more practical in the form of a poll.

40 for me, easily. The case size looks small for the bracelet on the 36 in the picture above...probably also doesn't help that I own the 40, so of course I'm biased!

Depends on your wrist size.

36 is the classic. 40 is great if your wrist is big enough.

Can't really go wrong with either.

36mm! I wish they would update the 36 to have an integrated ceramic insert president and 3255 movement. Be it Basel 19 or whenever.

40mm for me. I prefer the proportions - the amount of dial between the markers, the length of the hands, etc.

Appreciate all the comments so far.

Once again the question is less about which one fits better on wrist (size), or has a better movement, or which one we would purchase, as a purchase decision is influenced by many factors. I’m trying to get a sense of what others think on which one of the two has a better proportion.

Cheers
