Ed O’Neil wearing Sub on Modern Family
My daughter graduated from college a couple years ago and moved to Houston with her boy friend. My wife and I thought it would be a great idea to rent a villa in Aspen and have a little reunion with them. After spending all day on the mountain, we built a fire and started watching TV.
My daughter said, “let’s watch Modern Family.” I said ok, and honestly, I never saw the show or knew anything about it. I then notice Ed O’Neil is wearing a Sub and I was wearing one too. I said, “he’s wearing the same watch I am.” My daughter then says, “I know Dad, that’s why I like this show, he’s just like you.” So I’m watching this show, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Holy Crap! My daughter thinks I’m just like the character Ed O’Neil plays on Modern Family. LOL! I don’t know what to think about this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But seriously, as you watch the show, you will see him sport many and amazing time pieces. The man appreciates a good watch.

I mostly saw him wearing a white dial Daytona on that show, but never noticed a Sub. I'm trying to recall if I've seen him with other brands, but nothing comes to mind. I wonder they are from his personal collection or his character's.

I need to watch more episodes and discover more about this character. My daughter definitely meant it as a compliment, but I’m pretty sure I’m much more refined than that. Maybe she was referring to his intrinsic personality as opposed to actions and things he says on the show.

Guy's definitely a watch guy. Seen him sport Rolex along with other brands in different episodes. And the way he carries wrist presence tells me he's a watch guy. Great actor, loved him since Married with Children as Al Bundy. Him and I actually share other hobbies as well heh.

Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) has also had a submariner on several episodes of the show. I think that I have seen Ed wearing a Panerai as well.

I’ve seen the white Daytona a couple of times, and he had a whole Christmas episode dedicated to wanting a ceramic Panerai from Sophia.

I've seen him sporting a platinum Daytona on the show.
Along with many other Rolexes. Very funny show, but losing some steam these days.
