Why doesn't Rolex make their GMT Master II dials with 24 hour markers?
So, I'm looking at my 116710LN right now, and thinking to myself, "Man, if they put hash marks on there like the old 1655 Explorer II it would truly be a 3-time zone watch." I get that it wasn't possible on the 1675 or 16750 because of the connected GMT hand; you had to use the bezel to show the second time zone. But now, with an independent GMT hand, it would make sense to have some sort of mark at the .5, 1.5, 2.5, etc. to show those intervals on the 24-hour scale, then give the user a 3rd option with the bezel.
Am I waaaaaaaay out in left field here? Do I have too much time on my hands? I can't imagine I'm the first to think this... Photo from HQ Milton for dial marker reference. |
