Is this scratch polishable?

Hi I just got a White Gold Daytona and I got this unknown scratch. I’m wondering if it is possible to get it polished to make it look like new?

Doesn't look that bad to me, should be able to be touched up. Just make sure the person doing it is experienced. Over polishing is 100% user error.

Try Cape Cod (wrapped around a cotton bud). It should come out.

Flitz paste and a q tip will remove it. Go to hardware store - flitz comes in a grey toothpaste tube. Best metal polish.

Just leave it alone till service. I’m sure your watch will get other minor scratches.

Be sure to tape over the brushed portion of the links before polishing the center link, and you'll be fine.

That’s nothing. You can do it yourself using cape cod on the polished area. It will be barely noticeable. Or you can wait till service and it will be returned like new, to the point you can’t see a difference.

You could polish it out, easily. But I wouldn’t advise it. Don’t get into the habit of trying to polish out every little scratch that you see. You’ll end up ruining your watch over time. Just wear it and let the minor blemishes accumulate naturally, according to the normal order of things. Then have the whole watch refinished by the experts when it goes in for service, every 10 years or so.

Not a big deal, leave it alone. Don’t create an uneven finish by polishing yourself

You could probably cape cod cloth it. BUT, you’ve got to be really careful not to let the cloth touch brushed surfaces. I’m pretty good at using it, but I would recommend looking at a YouTube video first (if it bothers you that much).

I say leave it. It is not new so there is no reason it should look like new. It should look used, by you. It should look like your unique watch.

If you plan on wearing this watch, you will pick up alot more scratches and if you need to polish every time, there will be nothing left of the bracelet in a couple years!

Unless you can guarantee that your watch will never, not ever suffer another scratch, dent ding or cosmetic blemish of another shape or form - I would leave it alone.

Dont listen to the leave it suggestions.

Very easy to remove from the gold polished parts.

Cape Cod or Wenol Red (Still available ?)

Obviously dont polish the brushed gold next to the polished gold.

I’d leave it if it were me.

Candidly, if you don’t know how it was made, I’d say you’re likely to acquire many more of them over the course of wearing it. First one is always the worst.

Enjoy the watch and polish it when it gets serviced

What scratch , it's a slight graze . Give it 6 months & you will laugh at this , definately bigger & better to come on this scratch magnet .

I understand why you'd want to to remove it since it's a brand new watch. However, there will be many others to follow. Why don't you wear it a month and decide then?

Which scratch are you referring to? I see a few.

The PCL scratches may be too deep. Hard to tell in this photo.

Looks to me like the bracelet is kind of dirty.. give it a quick wash with mild soap and reevaluate. But to answer your question yes of course it can be polished, unless its a deep dent.

You need to forget about it or sell the watch. The flat oyster links will become full of scratches over time. No way to avoid. It will actually pick up a nice patina. Next time buy a well worn used watch with scratches all over and you will never give it a thought again.
