Reasonable grand seiko discount?

Hi everyone, I recently went to look at a grand seiko limited edition gmt and I must say I was very impressed with Watch.

Never purchased GS befre, what does forum think is typical discount on GS limited edition? Thanks.

depends on ur relationship with the AD. I was able to get 20% having a pretty decent relationship with mine.

Thanks ks6pd, He gave me 15%off , free ship with no tax which is 6% here so seemed fair. No relationship and first GS I am looking at.

0% in London i tried today. I really want one, but in USD terms they are more expensive here than the US to begin with so i would need a discount just to get to US retail.
$7050 UK vs $6000 US. even when adding US sales tax its still less in the US. So to some extent be happy your retail is lower.

That was for a diver, not even a LE.

15% is good on a limited edition IMO.

Could try Jura watches in London, I can get a discount in the Leeds shop so you would probably get one in the London branch. (I would look at 10 or 15%).

Edit; I may be looked at as a good shopper to them though. I bought 2 GS and 2 Sinn from them.

London is ridiculous to get a discount on anything. That GS is probably worth retail as its a really impressive watch....however there is always the resale issue as i have a hard time keeping forever

Plus i look at everything in dollars still and those UK prices, ouch

I may try them as well. Are they an AD? the boutique was trying to imply they are the only "official" dealer in London.

Yes, they are an AD, I would try them, they were the first in the UK to get them (I think).

Best AD discount I ever had on a limited edition Seiko was 15% but of course it will vary by country, and by dealer.

I got 16% on one and a dealer made money still as I bought through a trusted seller. I think 15% is fair but I’d ask for 20.

The Seiko boutique in Sydney gives no discount. I bought my GS LE (SBGJ015) at around 30% a couple of years back from a Seiko boutique in China.

Relationship with AD and buying history will impact any discount. If the watch is a popular LE then your discount will be less or none at all.

In Japan you can get 20 to 25 % plus deduction on tourist tax.
