which box would you choose?

Thought I would make a ‘state of the collection’ thread as the watches were out the bank safe for the weekend. Safer there as I am looking for a new house.

Just a quick summary. I bought my first reference in September 2005 by walking into the AD. They had two LVs in the safe.

I joined the forum in March 2008 and as you can see there was a flurry of buys during that year.

There was a hiatus between 2013 and 2016 due to some difficult times. Very difficult times where I didn’t nearly make it, it was so close.

After this time, I was lucky to make contact with an amazing AD who helps with whatever requests I have. Hopefully I will get the BLRO some time this year!

I am sorry for rambling. Thank you reading this thread.

For some fun, which box would you choose?

LV. September 2005.
SD. April 2008.
GMT II. May 2008.
GV. December 2008.
SUB. April 2009.
EXPLORER II. December 2012.
LVC. March 2017.
SD43. July 2017.
JC2. November 2018.

Note I bought them from five ADs around the country for retail, with the last three from the same one.

Wow! That's an amazing collection. I will take box 1 please...but all of those pieces are gorgeous. What's next? I feel that you need to throw a datejust or even a Day-Date into that collection just to mix things up s little.

One of the nicest collections of Rolex that I have ever seen.

The Sea Dweller box! They are a marvel and stand apart in a “sea” of 40mm watches. Thanks for sharing. Nice collection and glad you didn’t pay a premium.

Thank you for your input and kind words.

I just commented on another thread whereby I wouldn't have the BLNR in my collection as I felt the blue was a little cartoony. Instead I chose the Explorer II.

You have a fantastic collection Harvey, and agreed on the BLNR

What jumps out at me from your pictures is how “out of place” the supercase looks compared to all the rest. Stunning dial on the LVc however

Scott I agree about the cases. But these references do have the better bracelets and clasps. Just today I wore my LV and the bracelet has a 'tinny' feel about it. But then again there is a charm of yesteryear about it.

Box 2 for me. Without a second’s hesitation.

Too much overlap for me in 1, and not enough diversity in 3. Oh, and I love the LVc and GV.

I agree, but probably for a reason different than yours. ;-)

Supercase definitely has a more sports/robust feel to it than box 1.

Forgetting about the number of watches in the box and dollar value for a moment, I would pick Box #2. One of my favorite models is the Sub LV. I do like the white Explorer and the Milgauss as well. This makes the best trio, as all 3 are totally different models and has the best variety in this box imo.

Seriously tho.....you have a FANTASTIC collection harvey!

Thank you. Due to funds the collection is Rolex and stainless steel centric but I’m hoping to change that to include either a pm or PP reference for a big birthday in three years time.

Thank you for allowing me to share this hobby with you...
