Trade a Polar 16570 for a Tudor GMT?
Hi guys,
I've had a Polar 16570 (Z serial, 3185 no holes case and SEL) for a couple of years now. I really like it - fits well, comfortable and something a bit different. It also seems that used prices are on the rise. I do really like the Tudor GMT however. Classic look with the rotating bezel and is of course brand new. If you had the option, would you trade the Polar for the Tudor? Both isn't really an option - I've just purchased a Military Special Edition Bremont so won't be purchasing a new watch outright for quite a while. I suppose I could wait and see of Polar prices continue to rise, picking up the Tudor in a year or so? |

I wouldn’t trade mine for a Tudor gmt. Personal preference of the aesthetics aside, the 3185 is tried and true, working great. The Tudor movement though has had some issues... people have speculated as to the cause and whether it’s been resolved but I personally wouldn’t want to take that risk.

I have a 16570, and I wouldn’t be interested in that trade.

Dang... The 16570 Polar is next on my list. I'd be tempted to source a new GMT for you and swap

No way in hell. Completely different watch. The exp ii is maybe 12mm thick? That BB GMT will be 15+ with the slab side case. I love the black bay, don’t get me wrong, but the sizing is a deal breaker for me. If it were the size of the BB58? Different story. May be a consideration, but I still wouldn’t.

Please don't do that trade. Try and get a GMT pepsi at list which shouldn't be too hard.

Trade a Polar 16570 for a Tudor GMT?
Big no for me. I recently bought a 16570 polar and it surprisingly took me months to find one that met my criteria. I fear you would regret this move down the line.

No way! In the next 12 months you’ll be able to find a used Tudor gmt for $2500, IMO.

Yes. 100%
The Rolex is a Rolex, granted. But, the Tudor GMT is by far the better watch Get money for the rolie and go buy that Tudor. Every time I wear it, I can’t wait to wear it again |

Only do it if you really love the Tudor. While I don't take value consideration too much into play, and buy what I like to own, the reality is these watches are climbing and a no holes case with SEL has a lot of potential. So not so much even for value but if you want to go back it will be harder to find and you will most likely pay more. Be sure.

you really think the market for them will be that soft? While id ont expect the value of them to rise long term i think they will hold value.

No chance. Not a fan of the Tudor GMT. Initially I liked it, but the more I look at it the lume plots are too small for the dial and the whole line is very thick. I have tried to love them, had a BB Black and a Pelagos, but the thickness of the case moved them on.
