Question for Day Date Specilaists

Speaking on the 36mm Day Day model 118238. This watch is the newer Day Date. I believe this model was introduced around late 90s early 2000s. The first 118238 big changes were the new heavier solid bracelet, updated case, different polishing among other things. However, this model had another minor update later in the 2000s where the clasp was updated and the rehaut was added.

Now here is my questions...I know that the mid 2000s and most current 118238 has a slightly domed crystal, does the first generation of 118238s have this also or was this added during the mid 2000's update?

Like I said this question will need to be answered by a Day Date guru or an owner of both mentioned models

Photo's would help. Out of curiosity, where did you get it from. I'm really not aware of DDs coming with domed crystals. My '72 wasn't domed and it had a plexi crystal.

Just looked at my 2014 118238 and the crystal appears flat.
Though the edges are slightly rounded.
But I would definitely say that it wasn't domed.

When I was choosing between my 18238 and a 118238 I remember the 118238 having a flat crystal, while the sapphire was nicely raised on the 18238.
You can see it in this pic of my 18238
