SS Incoming...
After a long search to what was originally my desire to purchase a TT D41 with a champagne dial I come across the fluted beze, oyster bracelet blue dial in SS that stole the show...
I had some concerns over how flashy/in your face the TT champagne dial would be that stopped me from immediately pulling the trigger and I wanted to visit a few ADs to really enjoy the experience/consider my options before I did. I visited 5 ADs, firstly Goldsmith followed by Robert gatland, Laings, Preston’s and Mallory. I will post a full review of each AD soon, but I was impressed with Mallory, Laings and Preston’s. In each of these ADs bar Mallory I was either laughed at or a sly smile when asking about the SS blue dial fluted bezel and told no chance (one AD even said to go on a waiting list for this specific model I would need to spend £11k in store) Then I visited the last AD on my hit list (Mallory) before I pulled the trigger on a TT and decided which AD I wanted to buy from. At this point I thought the SS blue dial wasn’t going to be in stock anywhere so it was between a TT champagne or Wimbledon dial. When asked what models I wanted to view I asked for the champagne & Wimbledon dial I then hesitated before I mentioned the blue SS as I’d been laughed at everywhere and seemed almost pointless but I asked away anyway to my surprise the AD said he thinks he does have one SS blue dial, fluted bezel on an oyster bracelet in stock. As soon as I viewed the watch I was in a dilemma, the TT champagne dial I had always wanted but the SS blue dial was absolutely stunning and much more under the radar. The salesperson was not pushy at all but I knew if I wanted this model I had to buy then and there, we had a good chat and I pulled the trigger (after a quick 1 minute sanity check walk around the block) the watch is sublime and took away my TT concerns whilst also suits most outfits. I received some free goodies - Rolex umbrella, wash bag & hat. I am absolutely delighted with my choice! AD review to follow! |

Congratulations; that is truly the configuration I like the most!!! Truthfully it is Rolesor and not SS.

Good choice. Hope you get years of enjoyment from that reference. I had a similar dilemma but when I saw the Wimbledon dial I knew that was for me. Rolex blue is captivating - almost every shade is beautiful.
Wear it in good health sir. Mark Sent from my SM-A520W using Tapatalk |
