Should I swap my Submariner Bluesy for a SS??

I currently own a Submariner 116613LB Bluesy and it does stand out a little. I have the opportunity of swapping for a stainless steel Submariner date but would only get around 1.5k in return.
Is this worth it as the gap is bigger buying new but I am aware the stainless steel subs are so difficult to get hold of and the TT is much more common.

If you want to buy into the hype then go ahead.
IMO the bluesy is far better looking and more versatile watch than Hulk or black sub.

Lol still don’t understand this mentality of buying high and selling low. SS subs r selling at ATH in resale value. So why would you want to get one right now? Wait until market dies down and prices stabilize for SS by it eventually will.

Nothing is more common than a SS piece, which costs twice as low than TT. Also, 1.5k seems low, you could get some more.

The TT LB is a looker, but no colored watch is more versatile than a SS black or white dial.

I sold a 116613LB in December and bought a 116610LN and I'm pleased. I find the LN easier to live with. The LB was 'more' of a watch though but I'd had enough after two years and I could not afford to have both. I'm glad I had and experienced a LB daily for over 2 years.

I have both.

Although the bluesy is a beautiful watch I am very aware it's on my wrist the whole time I wear it, just because of the way it sparkles - the LN not so much.

Could I choose one over the other..no.

Both Submariners, but different enough for each to warrant a place in the collection.

Don't get me wrong, the LN gets the most wrist time, not because I prefer it as such, but just because it's more practical in everyday situations.

I think I would miss the LB if I let it go, so for now at least it's staying.

On reflection, you probably would get more use out of an LN aswell, but now you've had the LB, I think you would also miss it in certain situations

It's a tough choice, good luck.

The Blusey is a bit special. Not exactly easy to get hold of in my neck of the woods but possible. My view, for what it's worth, is that you should have what you like best, if you can.

It's nice to own something like a Hulk when asking (if not selling) prices are going crazy but the material value of something like a Blusey is longer lasting and more meaningful. Not that I buy a watch with with its melt down value in mind. I just don't buy hype. Hype can have an alarmingly short expiry date.

However, if you've fallen out of love with the Blusey and fallen in love with the SS, then you should follow your heart. Life is not a rehearsal. If at all possible, I would strive to keep both.

Don't understand the question. Same watch. One has some gold in it. I would take the one with gold. No brainier.

I have owned several of each over the years and prefer the SS. If you want something different then why not trade the TT for the Hulk? You might have to come up with a little extra cash but it is closer in value to your TT. In the end get what you want and get the best deal. Good luck.

I ran into the same issue but I have a black faced two tone sub..didn’t want to wear the gold to work and thought it was too dressy for my usual casual wardrobe...wasn’t getting a lot of wrist time...my solution, kept the sub and got an explorer 2 for my daily.

I think you would regret trading your blussy...if you’re set on another sub and don’t want to spend the money for a new watch...look for a 14060...no date for a different look

Which watch do you want, that is the only question.

Why not put an SS Oyster bracelet on it to tone it down. Or Rubber. The bracelet is the part that jumps out the most .

No keep the bluesy. I have a ss sub. It's a great everyday watch but that TT blue is special.

You say the Bluesy stands out a little. Do you mean you find it a little bit too loud for you? If that's the case then yes I'd do the trade. I'm a quiet guy and I like quiet watches so I can relate.

I would swap and get the cash. Although I'm not the biggest fan of the bluesy. I like the SS black dial more.

The resale on the bluesy is worse than most folks think, so it doesn't sound like a bad trade.

I've BTDT, as I too found the LB a bit too loud after a couple of years of ownership. I wish I still had it, just because it was so pretty, but I enjoy the watch that replaced it more.

no. do not let scarcity affect your decision.

if you must go the SS route, a gray will typically sell a 116613lb in the 12-13k range, decently used...and around 8-9k for a ceramic black sub. if you must trade, you're looking at around a 3k offset, still giving them a slight profit margin

I much prefer the SS version of the Sub over the TT. The Bluesy is beautiful sitting in a case but wearing it (as I think you have noticed) is a different story. Gives off a very flashy 80's vibe which can keep you from wearing it in a lot of situations. You can never go wrong with a SS Sub and it can be worn everywhere. As for the value, get what you want and you'll forget about the cost in the near future.

I'd keep the Bluesy and buy a new Omega SMP or Tag Monaco for a SS watch. Black subc is nice but I sold two, just not interesting enough after a while, Rolex are kings of sunbursts dials for me.
