First post! Just joined the club (both clubs) :)

Greetings fellow Rolex owners. This place was one of the resources I used when shopping for my new (to me) watch. Now that I own one, I thought I would join up. Hoping it doesn't become too expensive a hobby...

I got a great deal on a 14060M. V serial/4 liner. Box and papers and looked barely worn. In what is one of the those rare events these days, I like it even more in person than I thought I would. But no pics for 10 posts... Anyway, who needs another watch on wrist shot. It's a common enough example.

But what is with the prices on these things? For some reason the 14060 market is kind of going crazy. Just since I have purchased, similar examples (VG condition/4 line/box and papers) is going for about a $1000 US more than the market prices of a month ago. I have even seen straight trades offered for a newish 114060. Which although I know plenty of people think is aesthetically not as appealing, plenty prefer it and it is newer and possibly with an upgraded movement. Is it just that the older models are finite and therefore more desirable?
