Dilemma: GMTII or LV
As you can see from my sigpic i have two GMTs! I have the chance to flip my Pepsi for a LV (in case i get it i will put a black bezel). What would you do in my position: a) keep the Pepsi along with the GMTIIc or b) get a LV? Mind you i am keeping the GMTIIc in both scenarios. It bugs me because i really like the Pepsi but I am thinking the option of a LV because i have two GMT watches. To add to my confusion i really do think the two GMTs are two different watches altogether although they have the same function....i hope i make some sense
Thanks in advance, Yannis |

I have a couple of GMT's also and I don't think I would trade for a LV. The classic GMT is just a perfect watch and I would actually get rid of the ceramic before the classic pepsi. I would take a LV over the ceramic GMT any day. Best of luck with your decision.

Trevor thanks man i also have the chance of getting a late Z series watch from a mate (a Coke GMT with the 3186 after selling my 3185 D serial 16710). It would cost me nothing extra!! So i am very confused on what to do right now!!

I'm a LV freak and I've always been a GMT " hater",but I have to tell you : don't do it. The pepsi will get a lot more respect in the years to come.

I think you got the "bug".
You want all, as I do. It' s common, do not worry ! I propose you keep both and get a LV on top ! And after those a Daytona ...and a DJ, a SD, a DD,..........

I would keep the Pepsi. The LV is a great watch, but the green bezel will wear on you after a while (well...it did me).

It was a very tough decision between the LV, GMT II-C and Sea Dweller. I went with the LV because I do love the green and the option to go black which is why I chose the LV.

I am not going to be much help because I am not really a big time fan of my own LV I like my simple Air- king the most. I guess I do not see the same thing as the rest of you. What is it with sport watches anyway?

If I were in your position, I reckon I would end up really missing the the Pepsi over the long run. As others have said, I think the classic Pepsi' status will only over the years. Plus there' something inherently "right" about having one GMT in its classic form paired with the new ceramic model!

sounds like you are a GMT kinda of guy, so maybe it is worthwhile to stick with the 2 GMTs.
but if you want to expand your collection varity, then a LV would do the job. have you tried on the LV yet, did it smile at you? |

If you sell the pepsi, I think you would regret it.

You may be a GMT guy and everything, but in my opinion the GMT-IIC is superior to (and more beautiful than) the GMT-II. Sure the Pepsi is a classic, but so is the Submariner!
You can't go wrong with a Submariner, and you can't NOT have one! If you get a Submariner, you will have a wider collection. Then maybe one day an Explorer II and/or a Daytona will come along! Good luck deciding!

Give up a watch that's been discontinued for one that's in permanent production? I'm not sure that makes much sense from a collector's viewpoint...but it's entirely up to you - do you really fancy the LV?

if i were you i will swap with my mate his coke housed the 3186! I can always get the pepsi bezel from one of the seller here.. And as for the GMT IIc, i would sell it for the LV...the GMT IIc is an ongoing production model and will be around for a long time,so i can always buy the GMT IIc later.

Since you only have two, I would branch out a bit. There are so many other choices available, plus you really can't go wrong with a Sub.

The Pepsi is collectible,so better to keep. The LV is also a good investment by virtue of it being a Sub, and it's rarity. You will not get tired of the green. Where does all that silly sentiment come from?
