Decisions decisions...?
Looking to purchase my first Rolex, have an ETA Tudor BB. What are your thoughts on first Rolex to purchase. I know they are completely different and it is a personal choice.

I like both watches you listed as possibilities but prefer the GMT. Have you tried them both on?
Usually I can narrow them down pretty quickly once on my wrist. Gotta go with what feels and looks better on your wrist. |

Love the pics of the GMT! Looking like a unanimous to the GMT.
Yeah tried both on at the local AD and did put my name donw for the GMT but was having second thoughts as used to the matte dial and the GMT seemed very blingy especially with the PCLs. I think the 116710ln is one of the best all around watches made by Rolex. I used it as a 1 and only for many years.

Another big GMT fan here. The Explorer II would be a closer comparison, and there is lots of speculation that Rolex will go with a ceramic bezel at Basel World. Just a thought.

Explorer 2 or submariner date for first Rolex. Enjoy the bracelet without the polished center links for your only Rolex for now. I think the gmt is a Better option if you have multiple. Rolex. That’s my 2 cents !

I didn’t explain. I would choose sub or explorer 2 due to the bracelet. It’s more forgiving on scratches. The gmt is an amazing watch. I just wouldn’t want a watch with the polished center links for my only
Rolex. This is why I said the above. I love my blnr and my chnr both great watches but I would choose the sub or explorer over any for my first Rolex |

Loving the shots of the GMT and it is looking pretty unanimous for the GMT.
I have put my name down for the GMT after trying them both on at the local AD. The GMT was a much better fit on the wrist. The Exp I seemed quite small on the wrist. I have a shot of both but not able to post pictures yet as I am a newbie on here. I was having second thoughts as I was used to the matte dial and the PCL’s seemed very blingy. Let’s hope the wait isn’t the “close to a year” quoted! Might have to end up with both as I bought the Tudor before I had my first born, but found out after the purchase that it was twin boys. Yep, have to agree that the LN really is a great watch. Mines on a sub bracelet because I just prefer the brushed links on my daily tool watch.
