A little back story.
While finishing my MBA, I decided to get myself a Rolex as a present to myself for the accomplishment. I started my research and decided on the Submariner Date, being that I knew I wouldn’t get the Batman at retail without any history with any local AD’s in the area. I visited and get my name on the list at 4 local AD’s and pretty much checking in with them on a bi-weekly basis. In December I received the email confirming that I have completed all the requirements for the MBA program and was ready for for graduation in May. That very evening I got the call from one of the AD’s saying they had a Sub Date with my name on it. Sounds great right? Well, the finance committee (the wife) vetoed the purchase. Having to call the AD back saying I wouldn’t be able to purchase it was heart breaking. But asked her to please keep me on the list. Fast forward, two (2) weeks later, the same AD called saying she had a Sub no date in stock. If I wanted it, it was mine. I went in to try it on, and didn’t love it. I had to hold out to what I really had my heart on. The Sub Date. Fast forward to Saturday, May 2nd. After 5+ months of patients, I finally got the call! Another AD stating they had a Sub Date with my name on it if I wanted. The finance committee approved and BOOM, just like that, I finally have the watch I’ve been waiting for! With all the rumors of the upcoming new Subs, this one might even be more collectibility being that last run of the older 48hr power reserves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
