Looking at the SKX013 - one problem

I don't believe I'll wear it frequently enough for a movement that does not have hacking or hand winding. On the occasions I do wish to wear it I believe this will create enough of an inconvenience that I won't want to deal with it.

The past couple of days I've gone down the whole "mod" rabbit hole on the web. Artifice Horoworks will sell you one that has been modded right out of the gate, but there are enough negative reviews of them floating around that I've crossed that off the list as a possibility.

Two things on my mind currently: 1)finding a suitable alternative that does have hacking/hand winding (willing to go up in price some), 2)going ahead with the SKX013 and trying to find a local watch repair shop that can do the modding for me.

The SKX013's big draw for me is the size. Looking for 40 at the absolute most, preferably smaller, not massively thick and not too long lug to lug.

Thoughts? Any input is appreciated.

Answered my own question: Orient. Will have to live with 41. Appears to wear ok.

Long Island Watch has just recently started selling modded watches. You have to at least start with a sapphire crystal, but you can choose different sets of hands, bezel inserts and bracelets. They do the SKX009 and 007, and a couple more. I have bought a couple different watches from Mark, and it's always a great experience.

That’s a great tip, thank you. Do you happen to know if they offer movement modifications or just aesthetics?

Just crystals, illuminated bezels, hands and straps at the moment.
