Lousy UK discount on GMT II (stunning!)

Just got back from seeing two AD's which are within 50 yards of one another. I was hoping against hope they had a GMT Master where I could switch dials or try to track one down at their other branches.

They both had very little in stock but the first one I went in to had a GMT -Master II (ref.116713)which had just been taken out of the window for a customer. I waited for the guy try it on and then had a go.

It was in Yellow Rolesor which grinned rather than smiled at me. When it was on my wrist it was awesome. What a watch! Ceramic dial etc.I just wasn't sold on the colour and with a bit more of a sales pitch maybe the deal would have been done. I also tried a 'bluesy' on- sorry a Sub date, reference 16613. In comparison it was lightweight compared to the GMT.

If the sales assistant had tried a little more then I would most likely be sitting here saying just bought a new watch or watches. I seemed to be taking up her time and space!

However they only offered 10% discount and wouldn't budge. So I walked out. A little more, then I would have had it, either or both as my GF was with me and liked the sub date and its my birthday soon.

Despite the forthcoming increase 10% is a lousy discount on a nice sale for the shop. So if the increase is on Monday and I go back after then I would be paying MRSP now!

The other AD had virtually nothing in the window. All at full price and no discount, although they did offer to try and find a GMT Master at one of their other branches or call Rolex for me. No Discount though!

With the current economic climate and the warnings of doom and gloom any business is good business but to me they don't seem to think that way. Both shops were empty while the shopping centre was full.

What do you reckon?I know 10% is better than nothing but to clinch a good sale?
