Seiko moving up the market
Looks like Seiko is moving up the market with the introduction of a new range of Seiko Prospec divers in the range of $5,000. Maybe I just accept this fact and pre-order the SLA033

Pushing the 5R Spring Drive movement, which they debuted back in 2005/6 with the Anantas and International models as precursors to the officially exported Grand Seikos. These Prospex, like previously, will be assembled by hand in the same studio as the Grands, Credors, and Galantes – hence the relatively strong MRSP. |

As the prices move up the competition is more difficult for Seiko. At the 5-6k range I would seriously look at the Omega Seamaster 300 or several others.

Or buy 10 regular Seiko Turtles...
I bought the black 'Ninja' Turtle a year or so ago for $600 and although it is not the same as the SLA033 it makes me happy. However, its great to see Seiko releasing these models, so there is something for everyone..
