Where to learn about all the different Submariner references
Hi Everyone,
I've posted this here as although its about Rolex I'm not sure its something that many people will be interested in. I'm now in the market for another watch and i would like to head down the vintage route. It appears that knowledge is king in this space! and although I'm fully up to date on Rolex's current line up, beyond that i know very little. I know that I'd like a Submariner 4 or 5 digit reference but there seems to be hundreds of different variations, from dials to bezels to inserts to hands to fonts Now my question is.... are there any great websites or books out there that people can recommend that give a really good overview of all the different submariners? P.S Im not at all saying the information isn't in this forum somewhere, and... i know there is a good search function. But the thing is I don't really know what i'm searching for and I'm looking for something structured. Thank you for any help / Recommendations Adam |

This video on YouTube, whilst not as comprehensive as you may be after is a decent starting point.

There should be some really good Rolex history books available that would cover all models and history. Try searching the technical and vintage sections.

Hello Adam, the only advice I can offer is once you find a Vintage Submariner your interested in buying post photos on the forum and ask for opinions, there's a wealth of knowledgeable members on here and will help out with what's period correct or not, good hunting "H"

I’ve been searching for decent books and that seems a struggle! I think I’ll and find what I like, and then research from there
