Do people notice the Rolex bracelet more than the dial? It’s 70% of your watch length

I’ve had more people mention that they noticed I was wearing a Rolex Oyster bracelet than the watch. In reality the bracelet takes more space than the watch face.

Nobody says anything about my YG Sub. Most if not all have no idea what it is and don't care/ notice. And I like it that way. It is just a watch after all.

They’re all talking about you behind your back, offended by that time telling telling device strapped to your wrist, as the fear monger threads would have you believe.

The bracelet is the most identifiable portion of a Rolex, in my opinion. They are beautiful.

I notice the bracelet first as well. Usually that’s because I’m not standing directly overhead of the watch wearer

That’s actually very interesting in that people point out the oyster bracelet. To me the jubilee bracelet is so unique looking that it just pretty much shouts Rolex. Whenever someone is wearing what I suspect is a DJ when I see the jubilee I’m just like “yup, that’s a DJ”

No. Nobody pays any attention to my Rolexes, when I wear them, nor does anyone pay attention to my Pateks or Audemars Piquet.

I love Audemars Piquet watches. You know who was a great Formula 1 driver? Nelson Piguet.

I wear my gmt on a $25 leather band. Nobody notices my watch. The weight of the modern stainless steel bracelet is to much.

I think a lot of people notice the bracelet first. I can be wearing the same watch and change out the strap and people will think I'm wearing a different watch.

The Oyster bracelet is iconic as any Rolex watch face.

From a distance the dimensions and styling of the bracelets are good indications of whether or not you're looking at a Rolex.

Both the Oyster and Jubilee bracelet are total design icons. Often an over used phrase but they have to be the one of the most copied styles by other watch manufacturers.

For me its what i notice first right away. A quick glimpse of the bracelet has me trying to sneak a peak of whats attached to it.

Lots of travel discussion on here about removing bracelet if your worried about theft/safety while traveling, as it’s easily the most identifiable from a distance. There are probably a lot of factors, including (bad) luck that plays into theft, but I know I almost always notice the oyster bracelet first

Yes. Oyster bracelet is unmistakable. As said above, put watch on nato, rubber, or leather strap to fly really under radar.

All of the Rolex bracelets are pretty iconic and instantly recognizable.

Interestingly, I see more President and Oyster bracelets in my area, than Jubilee. I saw a DJ in SS and WG on a Jubilee at a restaurant the other night, and it absolutely blew me away. it basically screamed, across the whole restaurant, that it was the nicest watch in the place. I complimented the fella on the way out. Got a huge grin in return.

For this reason, the 36mm Datejust and DD have more presence than their 40mm counterparts.

For me it's the oposite. My YG sub is by far the watch I own that people at bars and restaurants has commented on.

I agree, I notice the bracelet first along with the clasp if it's visible. The Oyster bracelet is iconic to say the least.

Some of these comments crack me up..."No one ever notices", "No one cares", etc. Really, do you ask every single person you walk by if they notice your watch? Of course not.

Trust me, for every person that says something there are 100 more that notice and say nothing. Watches get noticed, even by people who aren't watch "noticers".

Some of y'all are naive....

And yes, I always notice the bracelet first, then the bezel.
