Strap recommendations

Thinking of putting either My Subc date or Explorer 39 mk1 on a strap. Not much into NATO. Post some pics and some recommendations on straps to buy for either.

I have not seen one pic of a SubC on anything other than an oyster that looked good.

Unlike previous Sub models, the 6 digit is too upscale for dressing down to a strap.

I have a vintage style strap from Crown & Buckle and like it. Quality is good and price is reasonable at around $90. Some of the other straps run 2x. Check them out. I also have several natos from them and they are pretty good

I think the sub looks great on leather, but make sure you can a thin enough strap that it doesn't rub against the case and abrade. Everest leather straps with fitted ends like the one on torifile's explorer avoid this issue, and black ones also have the cool quality of looking like rubber from a distance but having the more upscale material.

And of course, for a sub a Rubber B is comfortable and always looks great, if you like rubber. (I'm less a fan of Everest, so I'd personally go Rubber B when the option is there.)

I just have a regular, standard (not fitted) black alligator strap on my GMT, and I think it looks great. The semi-glossy strap goes well with the shiny bezel and glossy black dial.

I think leather straps will give a good look, I personally use leather straps because I think people look smart in leather, whenever I need to change straps or want something new mostly I firstly go on a shopworn coupon because they usually have a large collection of watches.

The three strap brands I'd go for in descending order: Hirsch, Barton, Hadley Roma.

I you want a hookup for a discount in rverest bands, let me know. I can refer you to the guy I got mine from. He’s a dealer and can get all of everest’s lineup for you.

Leather strap on a diving watch looks really odd to me. Go for the NATO. Though I honestly don't think anything looks good on the ceramic Subs and 39 MM explorers but the bracelet.

it takes some leg work but would highly recommend the EX1 on oyster flex. would also highly recommend an Everest Band and much easier to obtain!
