...my youngest son's PROMOTION...

...notwithstanding the horrific ice storm, power outage, no water, no TV, no internet, my power was restored last Saturday. (Still NO internet or TV, until TODAY.)

...anyway, once we had power back on for heat, I purchased a ticket to Colorado Springs, to "pin" my son to the rank of LTC. He is in the AF.

...I flew on Sunday, with a short layover in Dallas-FtWorth, where the infamous "Springer" and I met for a quick bite to eat and some good old fashioned Rolex talk. He was sporting one of his GMT's and I my 1803 Prez.

...of course, those of you who follow John's posts, know that he is an avid biker! When I was exiting the plane, there he was waiting, in almost full Biker regalia, bandanna and all! And, there I was in my redneck Camo jacket and hat! What a combo we made.

...all though we had a short visit, it was fantastic to meet one of our own and spend a little time together.

...we asked an "innocent" lady bystander to snap a couple of pic's. Unfortunately, her picture taking skills were not the greatest, as the below pic is a bit blurred.

...nonetheless, I look forward to another visit with him sometime. Hopefully, he will be in my "neck of the woods" sometime and I can return the favor.

...I enjoyed the visit with my son, his wife, and my grand kids, immensely!

Stan.

It is wonderful to finally see a photo of you both!

Congratulations on your son's promotion!! It is well know that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

And John, If I had known you were so terrifying I might have been persuaded to pay more for that GMT!

Just kidding my friend! You both look like very debonair Rolex owners! And Rolex should be proud that you wear their timepieces!!!

Stan, that photo made me relive the moments again from last Sunday. I can't believe it's been a week all ready. Glad you made it back safe-and-sound. Take care and good luck with the mess left with you by mother nature.

(Gotta love that Cowboys banner; I guess Pittsburgh is America's team now!!!!LOL)

Congrats to you and your son, Stan. I know you are so proud. I also served in the AF many years ago and have a nephew at the Academy.
