Rolex case back engraving

I’m not looking to start a debate on the do’s and dont’s on having the rear case of a Rolex engraved, instead I’m looking for suggestions on any engraving artists people might have used or know that are great at what they do. It’s art I’m going for not initials.

Thanks!

I don’t have an artist suggestion for you but my understanding is that most engraving these days is done by laser, e.g. your art is uploaded into a computer and the laser does the work.

They can all be found here. Search through the gallery or search by location and the members close to you may be up to the job.

Can’t see why not? They are nothing more than scratches that happen to be in a logical sequence

At one time years ago Rolex themselves offered this service.

I read somewhere that it was an issue with Rolex. Then again, everything is an issue with Rolex. They even may not service a watch with an aftermarket strap according to a phone call I placed to the RSC.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but I'll give it a shot:

Does anyone know if you can get a caseback for the 116234 separately? AD or elsewhere. Looking to engrave mine but would rather have the engraving done on a separate caseback, should I choose to sell the watch down the line.

It’s easy to have the engraving removed, should you wish to sell further down the line.

I got my father-in-law’s DJ serviced by Rolex. I took it to the local AD who wrote on the form what the engraving was and for them to not remove it. Watch came back flawless and with engraving still intact. That was about 4 years ago. Shouldn’t be an issue for you down the road.

My first Rolex was engraved from new. Never a problem with servicing. However, I was once told that if I ever wanted to have the engraving polished off, the case back might be considered to be too thin. I would probably have to have a new case back.
