Date change at 12pm

Hi, I recently adjusted my date and now it keeps changing at 12pm instead of 12am. How do I fix that? Do I wait and set it to the current date at 12am?

What’s the right way to set it going forward?

Sounds like your watch is set 12 hours off.

Or in need of an overhaul service.

But most likely just set 12 hours off.

:)

OP,

Turn you hour hand ahead 12 hours and adjust date accordingly.

I thought the date and time can be set independently of each other. So if the date is currently on the 15th and it is 1:30pm here, turning it back 12 hours won’t change the date right?

Thanks! I’ll try it. So if my watch is currently on the 15th and it is 1:30pm here...I set it back to 14th and set 12 hours ahead?

Reset the time. Rotate it until the date changes to the 16th, which will be midnight. Then set the watch ahead an additional 13.5 hours, for 1:30PM. What you are missing is that there is detent, not quite so far as pulling the stem out to set the time, that let's you move the date forward independent of the time setting. It moves forward only, not back. Rotate it forward through the dates until you get to the 15th, and you are good to go. Check the manual if you are having trouble. I am assuming you are talking about a Rolex watch model.

I set mine as follows:

Set the date to the day before so the 13th.

Adjust the time until the date flips over to the 14th. Then advance the time 12 hours and to 1:30. Now you’re on PM

Broken watch. Throw it in the trash and purchase a new one before someone notices the wrong date

Always set the date a day behind the current, then go forward using the hour and minute hand in order to have the proper time set. It helps to be able to visualize the AM/PM. This guarantees that you'll always have the right date change!

I always look outside to determine if it is 12noon or 12midnight. Unless I'm way north or south of the equator. Then it's usually tomorrow, or if your in Australia then it's yesterday......or tomorrow, I forget. Does that help?

It says "Rolex" on it....who care if it shows the correct date and time

In all seriousness follow the suggestions above about setting the date a day behind and rolling the time to switch the date to get the correct am / pm

I guess I should qualify my comment above. I have the habit of not moving a watch mechanism backwards. I am sure it wouldn't hurt a Rolex, but out of caution I always want to set my clock going clockwise. I know can be an issue with some ETA movements.

Since I have an ETA-based Tudor Black Bay, I do everything clockwise on all my watches.

Maybe your watch is just set to HKG time instead of EDT.

You know what? There is no reason to beat up the OP. All you have to do is look at her posting history to understand that she is new to this. This forum has gotten pretty snarky lately to newer members.
